According to the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Ho Chi Minh City, the memorial ceremony - super martyrs and patriotic compatriots who sacrificed will be held at Le Thi Rieng Park for 2 days, January 13 - 14. 6. The memorial ceremony is organized in the spirit of promoting the tradition of protecting the nation and people of Vietnamese Buddhism, towards the 79th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs' Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2026).
According to the plan, in the afternoon of June 13, monks, nuns, and Buddhists will attend the ceremony of reciting the Earth Organ scripture at the park. On the morning of June 14, a memorial ceremony for the souls of martyrs and patriotic compatriots will be held here. In the afternoon of the same day, a memorial service for the souls of martyrs and patriotic compatriots who have sacrificed will be held.
The memorial ceremony is held in the context that the Ho Chi Minh City Command is making efforts to deploy the search and repatriation of martyrs' remains at Do Thanh Cemetery (Chi Hoa - Saigon, now Le Thi Rieng Park, Hoa Hung ward).
The research group has summarized and compared many different sources of documents about the process of clearing Chi Hoa Cemetery as well as the results of previous searches. In addition, collected testimonies from witnesses, conducted field surveys and analyzed information sources related to the collection of martyrs' remains after the Mau Than war in the Saigon - Cho Lon area.
Research results show that there is a basis to determine that this area exists 3 mass grave ditches with a number of martyrs of about 900 people.
