On the afternoon of May 8, Tuyen Quang and Thai Nguyen provinces jointly organized a meeting, signed a memorandum of understanding, and cooperated in many fields based on the potential and strengths of each locality, thereby creating breakthroughs to promote development throughout the region.
Leaders of the two provinces affirmed that Tuyen Quang and Thai Nguyen have a particularly close relationship in terms of history, geography and culture, both holding important strategic positions in the Midlands and Northern Mountains region. The relationship between the two provinces is also nurtured by the glorious revolutionary tradition of Viet Bac homeland.
Tuyen Quang is a bridge connecting the northern border area with the Northern Delta region and Hanoi Capital, while Thai Nguyen is the gateway connecting the northern mountainous provinces with the Red River Delta region.
Over the past time, the two provinces have had effective coordination in many fields such as provincial planning, investment in connecting transport infrastructure, agricultural development, tourism linkage and investment promotion.
However, the space for cooperation between the two provinces is still very large, especially in the context that the Northern Midlands and Mountains provinces are facing the requirement to strengthen regional linkages to create new development momentum.
According to the signed Memorandum of Understanding, the two provinces agreed to maintain periodic meetings 3 times in a term, alternately organized in each locality. In particular, 6 areas of cooperation are identified by Tuyen Quang and Thai Nguyen provinces as needing to be promoted.
Examples include: Development of connecting transport infrastructure; Cooperation in the field of industry and trade (industry, logistics), Cooperation in the field of agriculture; Tourism development cooperation in a close inter-regional direction; Cooperation in training and supply of human resources.
In the near future, the two localities will closely coordinate to organize activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's visit to ATK Dinh Hoa with the Central Party Committee and the Government leading the resistance war against French colonialism (May 20, 1947 - May 20, 2027).
The two provinces agreed to strengthen coordination to propose to the Central Government to implement many important inter-regional transport projects such as the Thai Nguyen - Tuyen Quang expressway, the Thai Nguyen - Tuyen Quang - Lao Cai railway line, the line connecting Ba Be Lake with Na Hang, the Pho Yen - Tuyen Quang - Lao Cai connecting road...
