Tuyen Quang grassroots police sow seeds of livelihood in border areas

Not only maintaining peace in villages, the grassroots police force in Tuyen Quang is contributing to building livelihoods and improving the lives of people in mountainous areas.

From the "Three-First" emulation movement, many skillful mass mobilization models have been deployed, becoming a bridge between the police and people in Nghia Thuan and Can Ty communes (Tuyen Quang), VNA reported on the afternoon of April 6.

In the early days of the crop, Ma Sao Pho village, Nghia Thuan commune became bustling. On the newly renovated hillsides, people and commune police officers and soldiers sowed Le Pho taro. Regardless of steep terrain and remote roads, the police force directly participated in tilling the soil, planting beds, guiding techniques, and mobilizing support for seeds and fertilizers.

Senior Lieutenant Colonel Vang Quoc Chung - Head of Nghia Thuan Commune Police - said: "We determine that if we want to maintain security and order, we must first help people stabilize their lives. When people have livelihoods and have faith, we will accompany the police force. Bringing Le Pho taro variety into planting is a way to concretize the motto "closest to the people, understand the people the most, help the people most practically".

Not only supporting production, labor sessions are also an opportunity for police officers to propagate and remind people to raise their vigilance and not violate the law. Exchanges take place right in the fields, contributing to bringing the law closer to life.

Mr. Vang Seo Pao - a resident of Ma Sao Pho village - shared: "Previously, growing corn and cassava brought low income. Now being guided to grow new sweet potatoes, and being supported on the spot, people are very trusting. They also regularly visit and remind us to maintain security, we consider them as family members.

The sweet potato beds that are taking root not only promise a bumper crop but also show the bond between the police force and the people - the foundation of the "people's heart formation" in the border area.

In Can Ty commune, the "Three-One" movement is concretized by the model "Mobilizing and helping people improve mixed gardens, supporting social security, eliminating backward customs". From the reality that many households still practice backward farming and mixed gardens are ineffective, the commune police have supported crop varieties, especially taro - a type of plant suitable for the soil, easy to care for, and bringing stable economic value.

Lieutenant Colonel Hoang Trung Dung - Head of Can Ty Commune Police - said: "We consider mass mobilization work as a xuyên suốt task. When people are still in difficulty, the police force works together, shares together. From renovating mixed gardens to mobilizing to eliminate outdated customs, all are aimed at helping people change their awareness and gradually escape poverty.

Commune police officers and soldiers directly participate in labor with the people. The image of soldiers in green uniforms, with hoes and shovels in hand, taking care of each sweet potato tree with the people has become familiar.

Captain Do Thi Huong - an officer of Can Ty Commune Police - shared: "There are days when we walk for hours into the village, working from morning to afternoon. When we see people excited and trusting, all the hardships are worth it. Closeness helps us firmly grasp the area and promptly solve problems right from the grassroots level.

From specific actions, the mass mobilization model at Can Ty brought clear efficiency, contributing to improving people's lives, consolidating the all-people movement to protect national security and was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Minister of Public Security.

Ms. Sung Thi My - a resident in the commune - said: "Previously, the garden was not effective. Now being guided to grow sweet potatoes, the family has an additional source of income. More importantly, people have changed their perceptions and are more diligent in working.

From lush green sweet potato fields to renovated gardens, changes are present. More importantly, the trust between the people and the police force is strengthened through each specific action. The "Three Firsts" movement is therefore not just a slogan but has become a practical action, contributing to maintaining peace and building a new life in the border region.
