On the morning of August 14, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tuan - Secretary of the Party Committee of Iaiap Commune (Dak Lak Province) - confirmed: "The commune has agreed to request agencies, units, and delegates not to give flowers or gifts to congratulate the 1st Commune Party Congress, term 2025-2030 to turn them into gifts for orphaned students.
The Standing Committee of the Commune Party Committee has agreed on the policy and assigned the Commune's Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee to implement it".
"Our commune is a particularly difficult border commune in the province. Therefore, the commune launched the project to instead of giving flowers and gifts to congratulate the congress, it will convert them into books, clothes, and backpacks for orphaned students or those in difficult circumstances," Mr. Tuan shared.
Up to now, the commune government has received nearly 50 million VND to convert into meaningful gifts for students. The commune currently has 43 cases of orphans in difficult circumstances.
The whole commune has more than 1,800 households. Of which, there are more than 980 poor households (accounting for 54%) and 220 near-poor households (accounting for more than 12%). By 2030, the commune strives to reduce the poverty rate to below 29% (the average poverty rate decreases by 5% or more per year).
The 1st Ia Lap Commune Party Congress, term 2025-2030, will hold a spring session on August 14. The official session of the congress will take place on August 15.
