These days, officials of the Khanh Hoa Commune General Service Center, Lao Cai province, are coordinating with villages to organize vaccination for livestock in the first phase of 2026.
According to the plan, from May 19-30, the locality will vaccinate nearly 1,000 doses of vaccine, including 160 doses to prevent foot-and-mouth disease for buffaloes and cows and 810 doses to prevent rabies for dogs and cats. At the same time, deploy 150 liters of chemicals to serve disinfection and sterilization of the livestock environment.

To ensure progress, Center staff directly go to each household to review livestock, propagate and guide people to fully vaccinate.
However, the fact that many households let dogs and cats roam freely makes vaccination work encounter many difficulties.
Despite the hard work, frequent direct contact with livestock, and potential risks of labor unsafety, the team of officials still sticks to the grassroots level, striving to complete tasks with the desire to protect the safety of livestock for people.

To make vaccination effective, the Commune General Service Center previously reviewed the total herd, announced the vaccination schedule to each livestock household and assigned officials to be in charge of each village.
At the same time, closely coordinate with the village head in the implementation process to ensure the set progress.
In addition to vaccination, disinfection and sterilization of barns are also being implemented synchronously to limit the risk of disease outbreaks.
Proactive vaccination is considered an important solution to help protect livestock herds, stabilize livestock production and ensure community health.
