On May 23, Lao Cai Provincial Police said that the Dong Cuong Commune Police force had just promptly supported a lost man, helping him return safely to his family, thereby showing the spirit of "Serving the People" and the beautiful image of a dedicated and responsible grassroots police officer.
At about 5:30 pm on May 20, people in Toan An village, Dong Cuong commune discovered a man about 50 years old, showing signs of unstable spirit, wandering in the area of Km 167 of the Noi Bai - Lao Cai expressway.
Realizing the high risk of a traffic accident, people took him out of the dangerous area and immediately reported it to the Dong Cuong Commune Police.
Upon receiving the information, the commune police commander directed officers to take the man to the commune health station for health check, new clothes support, bathing, eating and resting.
After his health stabilized, the police force continued to verify his identity.
The man was identified as Mr. Tran Van Thoi, born in 1974, residing in hamlet 7, Muong Lai commune, Lao Cai province. Due to limited memory, Mr. Thoi got lost from his family.
Dong Cuong Commune Police have coordinated with Muong Lai Commune Police to verify information.

On May 21, two police officers of Dong Cuong commune took Mr. Thoi nearly 120 km to hand over to his family.
Mr. Thoi's younger brother, Mr. Tran Van Chinh, born in 1979, sent his deep thanks to the collective of officers and soldiers of Dong Cuong Commune Police for their dedication and responsibility, helping the family find their loved ones.
