The program is organized at Bu Gia Map National Park, Bu Gia Map commune, Dong Nai city. Here, the team of specialized eye doctors has coordinated with local health facilities to conduct vision checks and screen for eye diseases for people.
For cases with surgical indications, local hospitals will provide full or partial financial support, shuttle buses and meals so that people can feel secure to go to the hospital for treatment. Mild cases can be treated with internal medicine, and medicine and treatment will be provided on the spot for people.
The eye examination and free medicine distribution attracted about 200 people to participate. It is known that Bu Gia Map is a border commune with over 75% of the population being ethnic minorities, and the lives of people here are still very poor. This meaningful medical activity has practically contributed to caring for and protecting the health of people in border areas, especially ethnic minority households in difficult circumstances.

Ms. Dieu Thi Xue (born in 1955, S'tieng ethnic group) said that she is old and from a difficult household, her eyes have been blurred for a long time, causing many obstacles to her daily life. Lack of economic conditions makes it impossible for her to go for examination at higher-level hospitals. This program has helped Ms. Xue to be examined and given medicine for treatment.
My eyes have been blurred for several years now, I want to go for an examination but I don't have money. Now doctors have come to my place to examine me, test my vision and give me medicine to drink, and guide me to maintain my eyes very attentively" - Ms. Dieu Thi Xue expressed.
