Joining hands to support poor households overcoming difficulties in Nam Cuong ward

Lao Cai - Agencies, units and philanthropists join hands to support a poor household in Nam Cuong ward to overcome difficulties and gradually stabilize their lives.

In the afternoon of June 8, a working delegation led by Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Truc - Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Nam Cuong ward, Lao Cai province, visited, encouraged and presented gifts to support Ms. Tran Thi Thuc's family in Minh Long residential group.

Participating in the program were also representatives of Agribank Bac Yen Bai leaders; the Executive Committee of the Youth Unions of the People's Security Bloc; the Youth Committee, the Political Work Department of Lao Cai Provincial Police and philanthropists.

Ms. Tran Thi Thuc (born in 1959) is a poor household with particularly difficult circumstances in the area. Currently, she lives alone, is old, has poor health and is often sick.

Her livelihood mainly relies on a monthly social allowance of 750,000 VND and income from growing vegetables.

Faced with Ms. Thuc's situation, the units joined hands to support with many practical gifts.

At the program, the delegation presented a savings book worth 10 million VND. In which, Agribank Bac Yen Bai supported 5 million VND; the Youth Union of the Department of Foreign Security, the Department of Internal Political Security and the Department of Economic Security contributed 3 million VND; philanthropists supported 2 million VND.

The Youth Committee and the Political Work Department of Lao Cai Provincial Police also donated 20kg of breeding chickens, equivalent to 10 adult chickens, to help the family develop animal husbandry and increase income.

In addition, the Office of the Party Committee and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nam Cuong ward presented a cash gift worth 1 million VND to support living expenses.

At the gift-giving ceremony, members of the delegation cordially inquired and encouraged Ms. Thuc to take care of her health and continue to work and produce in accordance with actual conditions to gradually improve her life.

The activity shows the spirit of mutual affection, the concern of agencies, units and businesses for those in difficult circumstances in the area.

This is also a practical action contributing to the effective implementation of social security work, joining hands to support people to rise out of poverty and stabilize their lives.
