On May 29, the Da Nang Museum organized the opening of the thematic exhibition "Co people's cultural space - Living heritage in the great forest" in Tra Lien commune, Da Nang city. The exhibition period is from May 29 to June 1.

The exhibition introduces more than 70 documentaries and images and 20 artifacts, including 4 parts: Roots and identity; Heritage in the great forest; Heritage - A continuing flow; Spreading knowledge.
Specifically, the origin and identity recreate a vivid picture of the natural landscape, roofed village architecture and the simple working lifestyle of the Co people.
Heritage in the middle of the great forest depicts the spiritual life of the Co people closely associated with mountains and forests and a deep belief in the natural world.
Heritage - The continuous flow affirms the sustainable vitality of Co culture in contemporary life through the work of teaching heritage to the younger generation and the development of the Tra My cinnamon brand - an economic characteristic associated with the locality;
Along with that, the Da Nang Museum in coordination with the Da Nang Library donated 1 bookshelf to schools in the commune, serving mobile library vehicles to create a reading space at the exhibition, contributing to fostering the spiritual life of the local community.


In addition to display activities, the public also has the opportunity to participate in experiential and interactive activities such as enjoying gong fighting and Ca Dao dance performances by local artisans.
Directly practicing gong playing and learning traditional handicraft weaving techniques under the guidance of artisans.
At the same time, discover the unique flavor of Truong Son mountains and forests with bamboo rice, rock snails, water spinach, traditional spices and clean agricultural products from the highlands, helping tourists not only stop at sightseeing but also immerse themselves in the rhythm of life in the great forests of the Co people.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Tran Van Duc - Deputy Director of Da Nang Museum said that the Co people are one of the ethnic minorities who have lived for a long time in the mountainous area of the South - Southwest of Da Nang City (Tra Lien commune and scattered in Thanh Binh, Duc Phu, Tra Giap, Tam My communes) and the Northwest of Quang Ngai province.
Attached to the mountains and forests, the Co people have formed a rich and unique cultural space, showing the harmonious relationship between people and nature. Today, despite many changes in life, the Co people continue to strive to preserve and promote the traditional values of the community.
To implement this thematic exhibition, the Da Nang Museum has chosen to introduce to the public typical images and artifacts of Co people.
In addition, introducing typical cuisine and combining displaying and introducing local agricultural products, OCOP products, and commodities of ethnic minorities. Bringing the Knowledge Spreading space of the Da Nang Library to the people to suggest and tell stories about a community that has been and is preserving "living heritage" in the great forest," Mr. Duc said.
