On March 29, information from the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha of Nghe An province said that it had just organized a groundbreaking ceremony for the spiritual space of Da Pagoda (Au Lac Co Tu) in Hoa Tien block, Vinh Loc ward.
Attending the ceremony were comrades: Thai Thanh Quy - Standing Deputy Head of the Central Policy and Strategy Committee; Le Quoc Minh - Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association; Nguyen Khac Than - Secretary of Nghe An Provincial Party Committee along with representatives of ministries, branches, press agencies and the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha.

Da Pagoda has a history from the late 17th century, once restored in 1889 under the reign of King Thanh Thai. This is not only a place for religious activities but also a "red address" associated with the Nghe Tinh Soviet movement (1930-1931), once a secret meeting place of Loc Da Party Cell.
During the historical process, the pagoda was damaged, leaving only traces. In 2017, the People's Committee of Nghe An province issued a decision to restore and embellish the pagoda according to the wishes of the people and Buddhists.
According to the plan, the new pagoda complex includes the main hall, ancestral temple, tower and landscape campus. In particular, the project has a memorial area for 534 revolutionary journalists who sacrificed in the cause of fighting for national independence.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Le Quoc Minh emphasized that the restoration of the pagoda is not only building religious works but also restoring cultural heritage, a place to express gratitude to generations of revolutionary journalists, contributing to educating traditions for today's generation.
The completed project is expected to become a cultural - historical highlight, a meaningful spiritual space serving people and tourists.
