Da Nang is a coastal city in the Central region, famous for its cuisine, natural scenery, and lifestyle for both international tourists and foreigners living and working in Vietnam.
chef Olivier Corti, head chef and owner of a long-standing French fine-dining restaurant in Da Nang. Olivier shared that he worked in his hometown of Lyon, France before moving to Monaco and Hong Kong (China). In the end, he chose Da Nang to live in 2017. After many years as a chef in Vietnam and being knowledgeable about cuisine, Olivier has chosen the 6 most favorite restaurants in Da Nang.
"There is no dish with more Da Nang flavor than Quang noodles - a noodle dish cooked with seafood that is a symbol of this land".
According to the restaurant owner, my favorite Quang noodles is Quang Co Sau noodles on Tran Hung Dao street, An Hai Tay, Son Tra). A restaurant located near the banks of the Han River was once recommended by Michelin. "I came to eat and really enjoyed it."
He believes that outstanding delicious dishes of Da Nang cuisine are often sold right on the streets. Chefs often have to work all night to prepare food for sale as well as deliver goods in the morning. He considers them the best chefs in Da Nang because they have been practically cooking a dish for 30 years.

A Da Nang street seafood restaurant that Olivier loves is Chau Son 1 Seafood (Chau Nga) on Nai Tu 2 Street, An Hai Bac, Son Tra. This is a popular restaurant serving customers right on the sidewalk with green corrugated iron tables and plastic chairs.
Early in the morning, the restaurant owner and the restaurant's chef took seafood from the newly arrived boat to the port, so the ingredients were very delicious. Visitors will enjoy all kinds of charcoal-grilled food from clams, oysters, squid... to bread. In addition to baked goods, the restaurant also attracts customers thanks to seafood hotpot dishes, shrimp and garlic butter sauce...
Ba Ro seafood on Ly Tu Tan street, Tho Quang, Son Tra is also a delicious seafood selling address that Olivier often visits. The restaurant has a rich menu with all kinds of fresh seafood such as crab chili, grilled oysters with garlic, shrimp with ice cream...
This restaurant is located a bit north of the center of Da Nang city, about 10 minutes away from Linh Ung pagoda, so it can combine food visits and temple visits during the day.
In contrast to the above addresses, Moc on To Hien Thanh Street, Phuoc My, Son Tra is a famous place for tourists to bring a more comfortable culinary experience. The restaurant serves indoors with cool air conditioners, attracting tourists to queue up for their turn. The seafood menu here is very diverse and impressive, such as sea crab shrimp, sea snails, clams, oysters to scallops and sashimi.
However, many diners come here because they want to choose raw lobsters and watch the processing live. Shrimp can be cooked in many ways such as garlic butter sauce, sweet and sour sauce, grilled garlic, black pepper sauce...

In addition to a series of seafood restaurants, Olivier also loves Da Nang banh xeo with a crispy layer of golden crust with shrimp and meat filling and many types of fresh vegetables. Enjoy banh xeo without sweet and sour fish sauce.
Ba Duong banh xeo restaurant on Hoang Dieu street, Phuoc Ninh, Hai Chau has been a restaurant specializing in selling this dish for more than 30 years. In addition to banh xeo, the restaurant also has silkworm spring rolls, which are popular.
Breakfast for people and tourists in Da Nang is not pho but a bowl of fish cake noodle soup and banh canh. According to the French chef, this dish has many variations in each region, but when coming to Da Nang, diners cannot miss the Canh Thu Banh restaurant on Chau Thi Vinh Te, Bac My Phu, Ngu Hanh Son streets. Breakfast and lunch are the two times when the restaurant is most crowded. The restaurant's menu is made from snakehead fish noodle soup, crab cakes, fish cakes, fish intestines...

If you don't like vermicelli and banh canh, Olivier suggests that beefsteak can also be an interesting breakfast dish that visitors should try in Da Nang. Bo Ne Khanh on Hoang Van Thu Street, Phuoc Ninh, Hai Chau is a modest sidewalk restaurant, selling to customers on simple red plastic chairs. The menu only has a few options for passing cows by the portion.
A serving of beef for breakfast includes scrambled eggs with beef pieces and beef balls sizzling together in a hot pan, a bowl of soup, a plate of fresh vegetables and a side dish of bread. French chefs often come here for breakfast. "If you eat beef here, remember to try the restaurant's homemade sauce and chili sauce, and order another cup of iced coffee for a perfect start to the new day."
In addition to traditional dishes and restaurants, Da Nang attracts a large number of Korean tourists and "digital nomads", so international cuisine is also developing rapidly. The Veteran Korean bakery restaurant on Dinh Nghe Street, An Hai Bac, Son Tra is a typical example.
Olivier especially likes Korean-style grilled red meat here. "They have a source of quality meat while still ensuring pleasant prices and dedicated service. I often come here to eat after 10:30 pm because it is quite convenient".
A delicious place to eat Japanese food in Da Nang according to Olivier's chef is Nagisa restaurant on An Thuong 4 street, My An, Ngu Han Son. This place is a " hiding gem", French chefs highly appreciate the ramen noodles here with quality ingredients, a quiet enough restaurant space and delicious lunches.
