Michelin suggests 2 days of eating delicious restaurants in Hanoi

Thanh Hải |

During 2 days in Hanoi, diners can discover a series of delicious dishes such as pho , banh cuon, fish cake or bun cha according to suggestions from the Michelin Guide.

According to the Michelin Guide, Hanoi is the ideal city when it comes to street food. To survive and develop, the restaurants here have overcome countless taste tests, conquering famous gourmets.

Visitors can refer to Michelin's 2-day itinerary to explore Hanoi for food lovers, to fully enjoy the diverse and rich dishes that still retain the bold traditions of Northern cuisine.

Day 1

There's nothing more perfect to start the day than beef pho - one of the most favorite breakfast dishes of Hanoians in particular or Vietnamese people in general.

Located on Au Trieu street, Hoan Kiem district, Pho Au Trieu (or Pho Tu Lun) is a familiar address for famous gourmets in the old town. The pho at the restaurant has a cloudy, fatty, thick and quite rich broth in the style of Nam Dinh pho, not sweet, light and clear like traditional Hanoi pho.

If you want to enjoy Pho Au Trieu, diners should go early because the restaurant can quickly run out of goods due to too many customers.

To fill your stomach for lunch, diners can try enjoying the eel vermicelli specialty at Dong Thinh vermicelli - a restaurant awarded Bib Gourmand 2024 for delicious food and reasonable prices. The most ordered dish at the restaurant is crispy fried eel vermicelli. In addition, diners can also try enjoying eel soup or porridge.

Thang Long fish cake on Duong Thanh street is an ideal place to have dinner. Diners will enjoy hot fish cakes with lots of green onions and dill, served with vermicelli, shrimp paste, and peanuts. This is one of the traditional dishes loved by Hanoians.

Day 2

Besides beef pho, banh cuon is also a popular breakfast dish in Hanoi. Michelin suggests that diners can enjoy banh cuon with meat, wood ear mushrooms and eggs at Ba Xuan banh cuon on Hoe Nhai street, Ba Dinh district. In particular, the fish sauce mixed according to the restaurant's own recipe will surprise diners because it helps enhance the flavor of the dish.

Coming to Hanoi, diners cannot miss the famous bun cha. Although Tuyet Bun Cha restaurant on Hang Than street, Ba Dinh district only has a small space, it sells nearly 2 quintals of vermicelli noodles every day, and is always crowded with customers thanks to its reputation for deliciousness.

Grilled meat, fried spring rolls, pork rolls... are all marinated and prepared by the restaurant according to its own recipe, so they are soft, fragrant, and rich, which can rarely be found in other places. The dipping sauce also fascinates diners because it is rich and delicious, with lots of fragrant minced garlic and kohlrabi.

Ending the culinary journey in Hanoi, tourists can try seafood at Oc Di Tu. The snail shop has almost all common types of seafood such as shrimp, clams, cockles...

In particular, the giant snail grilled with onions and garlic is considered a signature dish of the restaurant, able to conquer the most demanding guests.
