Talking to Lao Dong, Mr. Le Quang Canh (Cau Giay, Hanoi) - owner of a rice shop that sells more than 300 meals a day, said that the reason it is called rice lu instead of clay pot rice is because clay rice has appeared a lot on the market. market so he wanted to change it to rice lu to make a difference and impress diners.
“Stemming from my love for food, I decided to open a rice shop . The dishes in the clay jar are all thought of by me. I think the most important delicious food lies in the ingredients and preparation. Moreover, when the food is stored in clay jars, the first and last eaters are both hot and intact" - Mr. Quang Canh shared.

Food will be reheated on a charcoal stove before guests eat to ensure hotness. The restaurant starts serving from 10am to 9pm every day. The food in the jar is extremely diverse such as: braised fish, braised meat with eggs, braised meat with pepper, braised meat with shrimp, banana beans, eggplant, braised chicken with mushrooms...
The rice meal at the restaurant includes food in the jar, rice, boiled water spinach, roasted peanuts, pickles and soup. Each serving of lu rice here costs 35,000 VND.
The owner said that most diners choose to eat at the restaurant because the restaurant space is relatively spacious, clean and airy. Each dish in the jar has its own unique flavor, but braised fish is still the most popular dish. The restaurant chooses to braise basa fish. Before cooking, it needs to be carefully prepared to remove the fishy smell, marinated with spices and lightly fried to keep the meat chewy before storing it in a clay jar.

Using earthen jars to cook food helps the dish retain its full flavor while also creating a rustic country feel, attracting diners. Earthen jars are often fragile and can only be used for 2-3 months, so the owner will have to replace them with new ones.
Mr. Phan Thanh Binh (Dong Da, Hanoi) - a diner enjoying rice with braised fish, expressed his enjoyment: "This is the first time I have tried rice with braised fish, the braised fish here is very delicious. I live far from home, so when I eat rice, I feel like I'm eating my mother's home-cooked rice."
Mr. Tran Canh Tung (Cau Giay, Hanoi) is a regular customer of the rice lu restaurant and said: "Com lu here is super crowded, many days when I come to eat there are no seats left. I often come here to eat because the food is delicious, reasonably priced and clean. Moreover, when I looked at the food stored in the jar, I suddenly felt that the food was more delicious than usual."
