Located about 56 nautical miles from the mainland of Phan Thiet, Phu Quy Special Zone with an area of 18km2 is the "golden coordinate" for brothers who like to explore. This island with more than 32,000 people has long been famous on the tourist map thanks to its pristine beauty and clear blue sea water that can see through the bottom.
Coming to Phu Quy Island (Lam Dong), besides fresh seafood trays, there is also a famous delicious dish that any tourist can whisper to each other to try once. That is Phu Quy hot beef.
Unlike cows on the mainland, cows on the island are naturally grazed on lush green meadows. Thanks to extensive exercise and eating natural grass, Phu Quy beef has firm fibers, less fat, soft meat and a characteristic sweetness.
The name "hot beef" is a way people affirm quality. Beef (usually young beef) is slaughtered and sold out on the same day, absolutely without refrigeration.

Beef can be processed into many dishes such as: beef with lemon, beef dipped in vinegar, stir-fried or steamed with ginger. Usually, for each kilogram of meat, the restaurant owner will suggest dividing it into two different dishes for diners to change the taste.

Among them, grilled beef on a charcoal stove is the dish that pleases diners the most. The piece of meat just cooked, emitting a fragrant aroma, wrapped with a little raw vegetables and rice paper, then dipped deep in a bowl of spicy fish sauce. The sweet and juicy taste of beef blended with other ingredients makes it difficult for diners to stop their chopsticks.
Phu Quy hot beef is surprising with its affordable price despite its excellent quality, priced from only 250,000 - 300,000 VND/kg. In addition, restaurants will charge extra processing fees of tens of thousands of VND per dish. Some famous hot beef restaurants on the island can be mentioned such as Hoa Thuong, Thanh Binh, Thu Vien or Ngoc Tinh.

Ms. Quynh Hoa, a tourist from Hanoi, shared after enjoying hot beef on Phu Quy island. She said: "My family of 4 people ate 1.5kg of beef to our heart's content and paid less than 700,000 VND. Grilled beef is soft, the broth dipped in vinegar is seasoned very well. Especially, at the end of the meal, we were also given a bowl of pumpkin porridge stewed with beef bones, beef blood, and beef tendons, which is extremely delicious.
On the island, there are many Phu Quy hot beef restaurants such as: Cot Buom, Ngoc Tinh, Hoa Thuong, Thanh Binh, Thu Vien... Note that hot beef restaurants on the island usually only sell from 10 am to 5 pm. Therefore, tourists should take advantage of visiting and enjoying early to not miss this famous specialty.
