On the evening of June 5, in Da Nang, Michelin Group announced the list of Michelin Guide-standard restaurants in Hanoi, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City.
Among the restaurants that have been certified with a Michelin star this year, there are 7 restaurants that have been awarded Michelin stars and 2 new restaurants including Coco Dining (HCMC) and CieL (HCMC).
According to Michelin Guide, Coco Dining restaurant (HCMC) owns a unique dining space, where chef Vo Thanh Vuong introduces contemporary cuisine, combining Vietnamese recipes with modern techniques and fermentation methods.
Meanwhile, CieL Restaurant (HCMC) has a creative culinary style with sophisticated processing techniques and cozy culinary space.


The restaurants that still retain a Michelin star include: Gia, Hibana by Koki, Tam Vi (Hanoi); Long Trieu, Anan Saigon, Akuna (Ho Chi Minh City), and La Maison 1888 (Da Nang).
The new Michelin Guide list introduces 181 dining establishments - with 9 Michelin-starred restaurants (including 1 new restaurant and 1 upgraded restaurant), 63 Bib Gourmand winning dining establishments (including 9 new establishments) and 109 dining establishments selected based on the quality of dishes served (including 14 new establishments).
Among the newly added facilities to the Michelin Guide list, there are 10 facilities from Hanoi (5 Bib Gourmand, 5 MICHELIN Selected and 1 Michelin Green Star).
7 establishments from Ho Chi Minh City (1 restaurant has one Michelin Star and 6 Michelin Selected), 7 establishments from Da Nang (4 Bib Gourmand and 3 Michelin Selected).
In addition, a restaurant in Hanoi was also honored with the new Michelin Green Star award - recognizing remarkable efforts in practicing sustainable and environmentally friendly development.
This year, we are honored to see the number of Michelin-starred eateries increase this year, and these establishments have a team of talented chefs.Many of them have returned to their original values, combining the application of modern processing techniques to tell the stories of their homeland and regain the flavors of their childhood.

Selected by anonymous reviewers, the restaurants on the list must meet 5 global criteria: quality of ingredients, cooking skills, harmony of flavors, personality of the chef expressed through the dish, and consistency over time.
This year's event has the participation of guest chefs from Michelin and Michelin Selected restaurants such as Davide Garavaglia from 2-star commune restaurant in Bangkok (Thailand), Yun Dae-hyun and Hee-Eun Kim from soul-star restaurant in Korea...
Michelin Guide will officially launch in Vietnam in 2023, marking an important step forward for Vietnamese cuisine on the world culinary map. Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City are the first two cities to be added to the list, while Da Nang will be added from 2024.
