Forecast low pressure near the East Sea, highly likely to strengthen into a storm in the next 24 hours.

According to storm news, the latest low pressure from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), a low pressure is strengthening near the East Sea.

As of 8 am this morning, the center of the low pressure was located at about 10.5 degrees North latitude - 129.3 degrees East longitude, about 390 km east of Guiuan, eastern Samar.

The strongest wind near the center of the low pressure reached 30 km/h. PAGASA forecasts that the low pressure is highly likely to strengthen into a tropical depression or storm in the next 24 hours.

Due to the influence of the low pressure, on June 29, the Visayas, Bicol, Caraga, Quezon, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque and Romblon regions will be cloudy, with scattered showers and thunderstorms, with the risk of flash floods, flooding and landslides in places with moderate to heavy rain.

PAGASA also warned that rainfall of 50-100 mm may appear during the day in Sorsogon, Masbate, Northern Samar, Eastern Samar, Samar, Biliran, Leyte, Southern Leyte, Dinagat Islands and Surigao del Norte.

On June 30, the rainy area will shift to Palawan, Occidental Mindoro, Oriental Mindoro, Romblon and Masbate; by July 1, Occidental Mindoro and Palawan will continue to be likely to receive rain with rainfall of 50-100 mm.

The Philippine meteorological agency noted that actual rainfall may be higher in hilly areas, and the risk of flooding and landslides will increase in places that have had prolonged rain before.
