The tropical depression in the East Sea is forecast to strengthen tomorrow (June 26) before starting to weaken.

According to the latest weather forecast from the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, at 2:00 p.m. on June 25, the center of the tropical depression was at about 18.4 degrees North latitude - 113.6 degrees East longitude, about 300km northeast of Hoang Sa archipelago.

The strongest wind near the center is level 6 (39-49km/h), gusting to level 8. The low pressure is moving northwest at a speed of about 20km/h.

It is forecasted that by 1:00 a.m. on June 26, the tropical depression will continue to move northwest at 15-20km/h, likely to strengthen. The expected location is about 19.6 degrees North latitude - 112.4 degrees East longitude, about 170km east of Hainan Island. The intensity reaches level 6-7, gust level 9.

Disaster risk level: Level 3, affecting the western sea area of the North East Sea (including the northern part of the Hoang Sa archipelago).

By 1:00 p.m. on June 26, the tropical depression continued to move northwest at 15-20km/h and tended to weaken. The center of the low pressure is at about 20.8 degrees North latitude - 110.5 degrees East longitude, in the sea east of the Lusi Peninsula (China). The wind speed has decreased to level 6, gusting to level 8.

Dangerous sea area: The northwest sea area of the North East Sea. Disaster risk level: Level 3, affecting the northwest sea area of the North East Sea.

It is forecasted that by 1:00 p.m. on June 27, the tropical depression will gradually weaken into a low pressure area on the mainland in the South of Guangxi Province (China). The center of the low pressure is located at about 23.5 degrees North latitude - 108.8 degrees East longitude.

Due to the influence of the tropical depression, the sea area west of the North East Sea (including the North of Hoang Sa archipelago) will have strong winds of level 6-7, gusts of level 9, and rough seas. Waves are 2.0 - 4.0m high.

Ship operating in the dangerous area are at high risk of encountering strong winds, large waves, tornadoes and strong thunderstorms.

People and tourists coming to the western sea area of the North East Sea (including the northern part of the Hoang Sa archipelago) should pay attention to weather forecasts. Follow local instructions to avoid dangerous thunderstorms and rough seas.
