According to the latest weather forecast, in the next 24 hours, the tropical depression in the East Sea will move at a speed of 15-20km/h, likely to strengthen.

According to the weather forecast for the morning of June 25 from the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, at 1:00 a.m., the tropical depression was active in the eastern area of the East Sea.

The center of the tropical depression is at about 16.7 degrees North latitude; 115.6 degrees East longitude, about 440km east of Hoang Sa archipelago.

The strongest wind near the center is level 6 (39-49km/h), gusting to level 8. This system is moving northwest at a speed of about 15km/h.

Due to the influence of the tropical depression, the activities of the southwest monsoon will strengthen, causing heavy rain in the Central Highlands and the South in the afternoon of June 25-26.

The South Central region will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy rain of 10-30mm, some places over 80mm.

The Central Highlands and the South will have rain, moderate rain, scattered thunderstorms; locally heavy to very heavy rain with rainfall of 15-40mm, some places over 100mm.

The mountainous areas of the North will also have very heavy rain in the evening and tonight.

People and tourists should be on guard against the risk of flash floods, landslides, and land subsidence on steep slopes and small streams in the provinces of Lai Chau, Dien Bien, Son La, Lao Cai, Yen Bai, Ha Giang, Tuyen Quang, Phu Tho, etc.

From early morning to the night of June 25, the Northwest region will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy rain with rainfall of 15-30mm, some places over 80mm.

The Viet Bac region will have rain, moderate rain, scattered thunderstorms; locally heavy to very heavy rain with rainfall of 15-40mm, some places over 150mm (rain concentrated in the early morning, evening and night).

Forecast in the next 48 hours:

By 1:00 a.m. on June 26, the tropical depression will move in a West-Northwest direction at a speed of 1520km/h, likely to strengthen.

The center of the tropical depression will be at about 18.6 degrees North latitude; 112.7 degrees East longitude, about 260km north of Hoang Sa.

Strong wind level 6-7, gust level 9.

Dangerous areas in the East Sea (in the next 24 hours) have strong winds of level 6 or higher, gusting from level 8 or higher, located in areas from 15.5-19.5 degrees North latitude and 111.5-116.5 degrees East longitude.

Natural disaster risk level due to strong winds at sea: level 3.

Forecast until 1:00 a.m. on September 27:

The tropical depression continues to move northwest, at a speed of about 15km/h.

The center of the tropical depression is located at about 21.0 degrees North latitude; 110.6 degrees East longitude, in the sea east of the Lusian Peninsula (China).

The wind will remain at level 6-7, gusting to level 9.

The danger zone will expand to the North from 17.5 degrees North latitude and above, along the route from 109.5-113.5 degrees East longitude.

The risk of natural disasters at sea continues to be maintained at level 3.

Forecast for the next 48 to 72 hours:

The tropical depression tends to move in the North-Northwest direction, at a speed of 15-20km/h, and is likely to gradually weaken.

The North East Sea, including the Hoang Sa archipelago, will continue to have thunderstorms with strong winds of level 6-7, gusting to level 9.

Strong sea, waves from 2.0-4.0 meters high.
