Wind intensity maintained at level 6, gusts at level 8. Disaster risk level due to strong winds at sea is level 3 for the Gulf of Tonkin area.

By 9:00 am on August 9, the tropical depression continued to move in the East-Southeast direction at a speed of about 5 km/h, going out to the sea east of Hainan Island (China) and gradually weakening into a low pressure area with winds below level 6.

Due to the influence of a tropical depression combined with a tropical convergence zone with its axis passing through the North, on the morning of August 7, Bach Long Vi special zone recorded strong winds of level 6, gusts of level 8; Phu Quy station had strong southwest winds of level 6, gusts of level 7. The North East Sea area, the eastern area between the East Sea and the Gulf of Tonkin experienced heavy thunderstorms.

Sea waves are commonly from 2-4 m, especially in the North and Central East Sea areas, they can reach 3-5 m. In the Gulf of Tonkin, winds are strong at level 6, gusting at level 8, waves are 1.5-2.5 m high; the sea area from Quang Tri to Quang Ngai has West to Southwest winds at level 5, sometimes level 6, gusting at level 7, waves are 2-3 m high.

The meteorological agency assesses the level of natural disaster risk due to strong winds at sea at level 2, especially the Gulf of Tonkin at level 3. All ships operating in the above sea areas are at high risk of being affected by strong winds, big waves, thunderstorms and tornadoes. Therefore, people and tourists need to closely monitor weather forecasts, follow local instructions to proactively prevent and avoid.
