After Typhoon Ba Vi, two low pressure areas are operating in the Pacific Ocean, moving towards the East Sea.

According to storm news, the latest low pressure from the Joint Typhoon Warning Center (JTWC), two low pressures are operating in the Pacific Ocean.

As of the afternoon of July 12, the low pressure bearing the symbol Invest 97W is currently in the area near Guam Island. The low pressure is moving in a West direction, towards the Philippine responsibility area.

The strongest wind near the center of the low pressure reached 35 km/h, gusting up to 45 km/h. The JTWC forecasts that the low pressure is unlikely to develop into a tropical cyclone in the next 24 hours.

Not far away, a low pressure area coded Invest 98W is currently operating in the Western Pacific region. After continuously changing direction, the low pressure area is also moving westward, towards Guam and the Philippine area of responsibility.

The strongest wind near the center of the low pressure reached 45 km/h. This low pressure is also forecast to have little chance of developing into a tropical depression or storm in the next 24 hours.

Because they are still quite far from the mainland, these two low pressure areas only cause thunderstorms at sea, with little impact on adjacent mainland areas.

In the East Sea, according to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, on the day and night of July 12, the sea area from Gia Lai to Ca Mau and the Central and Southern East Sea area (including Truong Sa special zone) will have strong southwest winds of level 6, sometimes level 7, gusts of level 8-9, strong sea waves. Sea waves are 2.0-3.0m high, especially the Central East Sea area is 2.0-4.0m high.

East of the Northern East Sea area has Southwest wind level 6, gusting level 8, rough seas; wind gradually decreases at night. Sea waves are 2.0-4.0m high. Meanwhile, the Gulf of Thailand and the west of the Northern East Sea area (including the Hoang Sa special zone) have Southwest wind level 5, sometimes level 6, gusting level 7-8, rough seas, waves 2.0-4.0m high.

In addition, the Gulf of Tonkin, the sea area from Lam Dong to Ca Mau, from Ca Mau to An Giang, the Gulf of Thailand, the East of the Northern and Central East Sea (including the East of the Hoang Sa Special Zone), and the South East Sea area (including the Truong Sa Special Zone) have scattered showers and thunderstorms. In thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, strong gusts of wind at level 6-7 and sea waves over 2.0m high.

The meteorological agency warns that on the day and night of July 13, the sea area from Gia Lai to Vinh Long, the Central East Sea area and the western sea area of the Southern East Sea (including the western sea area of Truong Sa special zone) will continue to have strong southwest winds of level 6, gusts of level 7-8, sea waves 2.0-3.0m high, especially the Central East Sea area 2.0-4.0m high, rough seas.

The Northern East Sea area (including the Hoang Sa special zone) has Southwest wind level 5, sometimes level 6, gusts level 7-8, waves 2.0-3.0m high, rough seas.

The level of natural disaster risk due to strong winds at sea is warned at level 2. Strong winds, big waves and thunderstorms can affect the operation of ships and boats, increasing the risk of incidents at sea.

People and tourists planning to visit these sea areas should follow the weather forecast. Follow local instructions to avoid storms and big waves at sea that are dangerous.
