According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, on the night of July 24, Typhoon Noul entered the northeastern sea area of the Northern East Sea, becoming storm number 2 in 2026.
As of 10 pm on July 24, the storm's center was located at about 19.7 degrees North latitude - 119.8 degrees East longitude, over the northeastern sea of the Northern East Sea, about 710km southeast of Hong Kong (China). The strongest wind near the storm's center reached level 10 (89-102km/h), gusting to level 12. The storm is moving in a West-Northwest direction at a speed of about 25km/h.

Forecast for the next 24 hours, Typhoon Noul will move mainly in the West-Northwest direction at a speed of 20-25km/h and continue to strengthen.
By 10:00 PM on July 25th, the storm center is forecast to be at about 22.1 degrees North latitude - 116.2 degrees East longitude, in the sea area northeast of the Northern East Sea, about 230km east-southeast of Hong Kong (China). At that time, the storm will have intensity level 11-12, gusts level 14 (frisson level).
In the next 24-48 hours, the storm will still maintain its West-Northwest direction at a speed of 15-20km/h, entering the mainland of Guangdong province (China) and gradually weakening.
By 10 pm on July 26, the typhoon was still at level 8, gusting at level 10. After that, the typhoon changed direction to North-Northwest, continuing to weaken into a tropical depression and then into a low pressure area on land in Guangdong on the morning of July 27.
According to current forecasts, Typhoon Noul has a probability of over 80% of making landfall in Guangdong province (China) and is unlikely to directly affect the mainland of Vietnam. However, the northeastern sea area of the Northern East Sea is still strongly affected by the typhoon's circulation.
Due to the impact of the storm, the northeastern sea area of the Northern East Sea has strong winds of level 6-7, then increasing to level 8-10; the area near the storm center is strong at level 11-12, gusting at level 14. Sea waves are commonly 4-6m high, the area near the storm center is 5-7m, the sea is violently rough.
Ships operating in dangerous areas are at high risk of being affected by thunderstorms, tornadoes, strong winds and large waves.
