The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting updates the weather forecast for tonight and tomorrow (May 3) in regions across the country.
The weather across the country has a clear differentiation.
The mountainous area in the West from Nghe An to Da Nang City and the South continues to experience hot weather, with the highest temperature commonly from 35-36 degrees, in some places above 36 degrees.
Relatively low humidity, commonly from 45-55%, hot sun concentrated in the period from 11-16 hours.
However, from the evening and night of May 3rd, a cold air mass will affect the mountainous area and the Northeast region, then spread to other places in the North and North Central regions, some areas of the Northwest and Central Central regions.
On land, wind turns Northeast level 2-3, coastal areas level 3-4.
Due to the impact of cold air, from the afternoon and night of May 3rd, the Northeast and North Central regions will turn cool.
The lowest temperature in the Northeast region is commonly from 20-23 degrees, mountainous areas in some places below 20 degrees; North Central region is commonly from 21-24 degrees.
Notably, on the day and night of May 3rd, the Northern region and Thanh Hoa will have rain, moderate rain and scattered thunderstorms with common rainfall from 20-40mm, locally heavy to very heavy rain over 90mm.
From the afternoon of May 3rd to the morning of May 4th, the area from Nghe An to Hue City will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, rainfall from 10-30mm, in some places over 50mm.
In thunderstorms, it is necessary to be wary of dangerous phenomena such as tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind. Localized heavy rain has the risk of flash floods on small rivers and streams, landslides in steep slopes and flooding in low-lying areas.
In addition, prolonged hot weather also increases the risk of fires and explosions and affects people's health due to water loss when operating outdoors for a long time.
