The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting has updated the weather forecast for tonight and tomorrow (May 25) in regions across the country.
In the next 24-48 hours, the area from Thanh Hoa to Da Nang City and the East of Quang Ngai province will continue to experience intense to especially intense heat. The highest temperature is commonly from 38-40 degrees C, in some places exceeding 40 degrees C, the lowest humidity is only about 40-45%.
In the Northern region and the eastern provinces from Gia Lai to Lam Dong, hot and intense heat will be maintained over a wide area with common temperatures of 36-38 degrees Celsius, in some places above 39 degrees Celsius. The lowest air humidity fluctuates from 45-50%.
Meanwhile, the Southeast region continues to be hot with the highest temperature commonly 35-36 degrees C, in some places above 36 degrees C, the lowest humidity is about 50-55%.
According to forecasts, hot weather in the North and Southeast regions is likely to last until around May 27, while the Central region may last until around May 28.
The meteorological agency warns that prolonged intense heat combined with low air humidity increases the risk of fires and explosions in residential areas due to increased electricity demand, while also posing a risk of forest fires. People and tourists need to pay attention to harsh weather that can also cause water loss, exhaustion and affect health if people are exposed for a long time to high temperatures.
