The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting updates the weather forecast for tonight and tomorrow (May 5) in regions across the country.
Cold air continues to spread, affecting the North, North Central region and some places in the Central Central region. The common temperature is from 19-22 degrees C, mountainous areas in some places below 19 degrees C, cool weather. North Central region fluctuates from 20-23 degrees C. In Hanoi, the weather has rain in some places, the lowest common temperature is 19-21 degrees C, cool air.
On May 4, the Southern Red River Delta region and from Thanh Hoa to Hue experienced scattered showers and thunderstorms, with common rainfall of 10-30mm, in some places over 50mm.
By late afternoon and evening of the same day, thunderstorms continued to expand down to the area from South Quang Tri to Quang Ngai and the South, with rainfall of 10-25mm, locally heavy rain over 50mm.
The meteorological agency warns that in thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind. At the same time, the risk of flash floods on small rivers and streams, landslides in hilly areas and flooding in low-lying areas needs to be especially noted.
At sea, the Northern Gulf area has strong Northeast winds of level 4-5, during the day sometimes level 6, gusting level 7; sea waves are 1.5-2.5m high, rough seas.
The northeastern sea area of the Northern East Sea recorded strong winds of level 6, gusts of level 7-8; waves 2-3m high, strong rough seas.
Bad weather conditions can directly affect fishing activities and the movement of boats. Faced with complicated weather developments, functional agencies recommend that people and tourists should proactively prevent extreme phenomena such as tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind.
Localities need to review and reinforce houses, protect crops and livestock, and be wary of the risk of flash floods, landslides and localized flooding. Fishermen are advised to limit going out to sea when there is strong wind, and regularly monitor forecast bulletins to promptly take safety measures.
