Cold air is about to make landfall in the North, causing widespread thunderstorms

Forecast in the afternoon of May 6, the cold air mass already reported is still compressing and pushing a low pressure trough with an axis at about 26-29 degrees North latitude to move southward.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, around the night of May 7, this cold air mass will affect the Northeast region, then affect the North Central region and some places in the Northwest region. On land, the wind will turn Northeast at level 2-3, coastal areas at level 3-4.

In the Northeast region and Thanh Hoa from the night of May 7th, the weather will turn cool. The lowest temperature in this cold air wave in the Northeast region and Thanh Hoa is commonly from 21-24 degrees C, the Northern mountainous region has places below 21 degrees C.

Hanoi area from the evening of May 7 to the day of May 8 has rain, moderate rain and scattered thunderstorms, locally heavy to very heavy rain; from the night of May 7, the weather turns cool. The lowest temperature is commonly 22-24 degrees C.

Forecast for the night of July 7 and day of August 8, the Northeast region and Thanh Hoa will have the lowest temperature from 21-24 degrees, mountainous areas in some places below 21 degrees C, average temperature from 24-26 degrees C, mountainous areas in some places below 24 degrees C.

Warning from the afternoon of May 7 to May 8, the Northern region, Thanh Hoa and Nghe An will have rain, moderate rain and scattered thunderstorms with rainfall of 20-40mm, locally heavy to very heavy rain over 100mm.

From the evening of May 7 to May 8, the area from Ha Tinh to Hue City will have scattered showers and thunderstorms with rainfall of 10-30mm, locally heavy rain over 70mm. In thunderstorms, there is a high possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind.

From near dawn on May 8, in the Northern Gulf of Tonkin, the wind will shift to Northeast with strong winds of level 4-5, gusts of level 6, sea waves 1.0-2.0m high, rough seas.

From the evening and night of May 8, the northeastern sea area of the Northern East Sea has strong Northeast wind at level 6, gusting at level 7-8, waves 2.0-3.0m high, rough seas.

Thunderstorms are accompanied by tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind. People and tourists going out should pay attention to weather forecasts, bring umbrellas and raincoats to prevent sudden thunderstorms.
