Lien Khuong Airport will temporarily suspend operations from 0:00 on March 4, 2026 and is expected to reopen on September 1, 2026.
However, tourists still have many choices to come to Da Lat by air combined with road, or travel entirely by road and rail.
Air route
For tourists from distant provinces and cities, especially the Northern and Central regions, the convenient option is to fly to airports near Da Lat such as Cam Ranh or Buon Ma Thuot, then continue the journey by car.
Cam Ranh Airport is located about 160 km from the center of Da Lat, with many air routes connecting from Hanoi and major localities. From here, tourists can take a passenger car to Da Lat with a travel time of about 3-4 hours or drive themselves along the route through Khanh Le Pass and National Highway 27C.

Another option is Buon Ma Thuot airport, about 200 km from Da Lat. After landing, visitors can continue their journey by passenger car or self-driving car along National Highway 27, passing through localities in the Central Highlands before coming to the city of thousands of flowers.
Road
The Ho Chi Minh City - Da Lat route is a familiar choice for many tourists. Currently, there are many sleeper bus and limousine companies operating this route with travel time of about 6 - 8 hours.
In addition, tourists can rent self-drive cars or use contract cars to be proactive in their itinerary. The popular route is National Highway 20 and Lien Khuong - Prenn expressway. The journey brings many beautiful landscapes but also has steep passes, requiring vehicle operators to pay attention to safety.

Railway
For those who want to experience a slow journey and admire the scenery along the way, the option of taking the train to Nha Trang and then continuing by road to Da Lat is a worthwhile choice to consider.
From Hanoi, Da Nang or the Central provinces, tourists can take the train to Nha Trang station.
After that, continue to travel by passenger car or private car along National Highway 27C through Khanh Le Pass to Da Lat.
Although the travel time is longer than by air, this option is suitable for tourists who want to enjoy the scenery throughout the journey and have more experiences to explore the localities along the way.
