Da Lat Elephant Mountain and the journey to touch the majestic green carpet

If you are familiar with a dreamy, romantic Da Lat full of flowers, try to return to Voi Mountain once - where the "love song of the great forest" is still being written every day.

VTV's documentary "Four Seasons in the Deep Forest" has just excellently won the Best Television Program award at the AIBD International Awards 2026. This work not only moves international audiences with the story of forest protection by Mr. Nguyen Duc Phuc but also inspires those who love tourism and exploration. The destination in the film is Voi Mountain, a pristine and enchanting location in Da Lat.

Located about 15km south of the city center of Da Lat, Elephant Mountain stands majestically like a giant guard, preserving the original beauty of the Central Highlands. This place owns wide leafy forests and centuries-old pine forests.

The air at Voi Mountain is always cool, carrying the characteristic pine resin and damp soil scent, bringing a comfortable feeling completely separated from the urban hustle and bustle.

The attraction of Elephant Mountain comes not only from its natural scenery but also from its profound humanistic values.

For nearly half of his life, old man Nguyen Duc Phuc and the K'Ho people have persistently protected 300 hectares of primeval forest here. For them, the forest is a sacred home, a flesh and blood, and a place to preserve the solid traditional cultural features from time immemorial.

Coming to Elephant Mountain, the most wonderful experience is walking through the primeval forest on shady trails. You will admire the giant ancient tree roots and listen to the clear sounds of birds and animals.

This journey challenges endurance but the reward you receive is extremely worthy when you are fully immersed in nature.

When you conquer the top of Voi Mountain at an altitude of over 1,700m, a beautiful natural picture will open before your eyes. From here, you can welcome floating clouds and admire the panoramic view of Tuyen Lam Lake, as calm as a jade mirror below.

At the foot of the mountain, visitors also have the opportunity to visit the villages of the indigenous K'Ho people to experience culture.

You will sit by a warm fire, listen to stories about the great forest, hear the sound of gongs echoing and learn about the traditional brocade weaving craft. The hospitality and sincerity of the people here will make the trip more meaningful.

The most ideal time to explore Elephant Mountain is from November to June of the following year when the weather enters the dry season, sunny and convenient for hiking.

You should prepare long-sleeved clothes, good-grip shoes, insect repellent and some snacks and drinks for the mountain climbing journey.

Learning from the spirit of forest protection in the documentary, every visitor when coming here needs to raise their awareness of environmental protection. Keep the landscape clean and beautiful by not littering, not breaking branches and picking flowers, and respecting the living space of animals.

Voi Mountain is always ready to welcome footsteps that love nature and appreciate the green values of the great forest.
