A series of flights were canceled due to the impact of storm No. 13 Kalmaegi

Due to the impact of storm No. 13 Kalmaegi, airlines have postponed and canceled a series of flights to ensure the safety of passengers on November 6 and 7.

Typhoon Kalmaegi is forecast to approach the mainland of Vietnam on November 6 and officially make landfall in the Quang Ngai - Gia Lai area tonight. The storm is likely to directly affect airports in Da Nang, Phu Bai, Chu Lai, Phu Cat, Tuy Hoa, Lien Khuong, Pleiku and Buon Ma Thuot. In addition, Cam Ranh and Dong Hoi ports are also required to closely monitor to promptly respond when the storm has complicated developments.

In response to the news that storm No. 13 is about to make landfall, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (ACV) has directed the Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV) to inspect all infrastructure, stations, and communication systems at airports in the storm area; deploy flood prevention plans, protect works, equipment, and vehicles.

For projects under construction such as Chu Lai and Phu Cat, investors are required to determine technical stops and prepare solutions to overcome the storm.

According to the latest announcement from Vietnam Airlines, on November 6, the airline will cancel all flights between Tan Son Nhat airport and Phu Cat airport (Gia Lai), along with flights VN1650, VN1651 on the Noi Bai - Tuy Hoa route.

Some flights have had their flight times adjusted early before 12:00 on November 6, including VN1422, VN1423 (Tan Son Nhat - Pleiku) and VN1622, VN1623 (Noi Bai - Phu Cat).

In addition, flights VN1414, VN1415, VN1910 and VN1911 (between Tan Son Nhat, Da Nang and Buon Ma Thuot) will be operated after 11 hours. Flights VN1548, VN1549, VN1376 and VN1377 (between Noi Bai, Tan Son Nhat and Phu Bai) will operate after 12:00 on November 6.

Vasco also temporarily suspended the operation of two flights 0V8024 and 0V8025 on the Tan Son Nhat - Lien Khuong route on November 6.

On November 7, Vietnam Airlines continued to cancel flights between Tan Son Nhat and Phu Cat. Flights between Noi Bai - Chu Lai will be operated after 10am, while flights VN1622, VN1623 (Noi Bai - Phu Cat) and Tan Son Nhat - Chu Lai will be operated early before 12am.

After this time, the airline will deploy flights VN1650, VN1651, VN1660 and VN1661 (Noi Bai, Tan Son Nhat - Tuy Hoa). Some other flights such as VN1614, VN1615 (Noi Bai - Pleiku) and VN1602, VN1603 (Noi Bai - Buon Ma Thuot) have had their exploitation time postponed to after 1:00 p.m. on November 7.

Due to the adjustment of the operating schedule, more than 50 other flights of Vietnam Airlines Group (including Vietnam Airlines, Pacific Airlines and Vasco) on November 6 and 7 were also affected.

Currently, Vietjet's international flights to and from Vietnam are still operating normally, and are not expected to be directly affected by the storm.

In Vietnam, flights to and from Da Lat, Tuy Hoa, Quy Nhon and Chu Lai airports on November 6 must adjust their operating plans.

Temporarily suspend the operation of flights VJ729, VJ728 on the Da Nang - Da Lat - Da Nang route, Flight VJ362, VJ363 on the Ho Chi Minh City - Da Lat - Ho Chi Minh City route, VJ409, VJ410 on the Hanoi - Da Lat - Hanoi route, VJ206, VJ207 on the Ho Chi Minh City - Tuy Hoa - Ho Chi Minh City route, VJ433, VJ432 on the Hanoi - Quy Nhon - Hanoi route, VJ384, VJ385 on the Ho Chi Minh City - Quy Nhon - Ho Chi Minh City route, VJ376, VJ377 on the Ho Chi Minh City - Chu Lai - Ho Chi Minh City route.

Change the departure time of flights: VJ715; VJ714 Thanh Hoa - Da Lat - Thanh Hoa route.

Flights to and from the Central region will be monitored and flexibly adjusted depending on actual weather conditions.

Passengers are advised to always wear seat belts throughout their journey, especially when the weather is complicated; at the same time, proactively update information, arrange reasonable travel time and be present at the airport on time to complete procedures to avoid disruption to the trip.

Meanwhile, Bamboo Airways, Vietravel Airlines... have not officially announced the delay/cancellation of flights due to the impact of storm No. 13 Kalmaegi.

Passengers with flights to and from Da Nang, Phu Bai, Lien Khuong, Chu Lai, Phu Cat, Tuy Hoa, Pleiku, Buon Ma Thuot, Cam Ranh, Dong Hoi airports during this time should pay attention to checking flight schedules and weather before arriving at the airport to proactively plan their schedules.

Some flights may be suspended or have their flight times changed suddenly due to the impact of the storm.
