Non Nuoc Mountain (formerly known as Duc Thuy Son) in Ninh Binh, is located at the confluence of three rivers, between the Van River and the Day River. Seen from the South, the lotus-shaped mountain blooms on the banks of the Van River, seen from the North with the image of a star apple perched on the water surface. The road to the top of the mountain has 198 stone steps. The mountain has many natural plants and trees that are green all year round.
This place is not only famous for its historical, cultural values, and landscapes that have been ranked by the Prime Minister as a Special National Historical and Scenic Landscape Relic, but also has a unique system of Han Nom sculptures on the cliff.

The Han Nom sculpture system on the cliff at Non Nuoc mountain reflects the presence and development of Han Nom documents in the ancient capital and is a vivid testament to the process of cultural exchange, the ideology and beliefs of Vietnamese feudal dynasties over many centuries.
According to statistics, there are a total of 63 steles on the mountain, including 53 steles with Han Nom characters. However, due to the impact of nature and humans, some documents have been damaged and cannot be read anymore, currently there are only 37 Han Nom documents left.

Ms. Vu Thanh Lich - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Ninh Binh province - said that Ninh Binh province has completed the nomination dossier to include " Non Nuoc Mountain Sculpture" in the Documentary Heritage List of the UNESCO World Memories Program for the Asia - Pacific region.
