On the morning of January 23, the People's Committee of Xuan Huong ward - Da Lat (Lam Dong province) said that the locality has coordinated with relevant agencies to plant more than 200 cherry apricot trees in many parks and central city roads.

This is an activity within the "Joining Hands to Plant Cherry Blossoms" campaign, in response to the 2026 Da Lat Cherry Blossom Festival, which is taking place in the central wards of Da Lat urban area.
According to Ms. Tran Thi Vu Loan - Chairwoman of Xuan Huong Ward People's Committee - Da Lat, the planting of cherry blossoms contributes to improving the landscape and environment.
In particular, this activity also arouses the spirit of the community joining hands to preserve and promote the unique values of the "land of fog" that previous generations have painstakingly cultivated.

The campaign to join hands in planting cherry blossoms is an action to sow seeds for a natural "heritage", a symbol of vitality and the traditional cultural beauty of Da Lat land," Ms. Loan shared.
According to records, the cherry blossom trees planted in this period are mainly about 5 years old, suitable for care, quickly creating landscape for the city center area.
Da Lat cherry blossoms have plum blossom trunks, single flower with five petals like apricot blossoms, pale pink color, carrying the romantic beauty characteristic of the highland mountain town.

This flower usually blooms in early spring, from the end of December of the previous year to about January - February of the solar calendar of the following year, depending on weather conditions. The blooming time usually lasts about a month.
For many years, the government and people of Da Lat have always paid attention to planting and caring for cherry blossoms to enhance the urban landscape.
Currently, many roads are associated with the image of this flower such as Tran Quoc Toan (Xuan Huong lake area), Tran Hung Dao, Ho Xuan Huong road, National Highway 20 section passing through Xuan Truong ward - Da Lat, Cau Dat tea hill and Lang Biang mountain area.
As Lao Dong Newspaper has reported, on the evening of January 16, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Lam Dong province coordinated with relevant units to open the Cherry Blossom Festival - Da Lat 2026 at Lam Vien Square.
The festival takes place with many special art programs, lasting until the end of February 5, 2026.
