Early season cold wind in Sa Pa

Sa Pa National Tourist Area (Lao Cai Province) has just opened the Winter Festival and the Stone Lotus Festival in 2025, taking place from October 25 to February 14. This is a series of events opening the year-end tourist season, with many unique cultural and artistic activities, attracting a large number of domestic and foreign tourists.

According to Lao Dong, these days, Sa Pa is experiencing an early cold spell with temperatures ranging from 10 - 17 degrees Celsius, thick fog covering the mountain slopes and trees, creating a magical scene like in the paintings.

For the first time, I felt the typical cold of Sa Pa when the fog covered the entire mountain town, both cold but very interesting. In the morning, sipping hot coffee and looking down at the misty valley is a memorable experience, said Mr. Ngo Duy Dung - a tourist from Hanoi.

Not only domestic tourists, but many international tourists are also attracted by the cold weather and colorful cultural space of the highlands. Some attractions such as Fansipan Legend, Cat Cat village, Ta Van village, Sa Pa stone church are always crowded with visitors.

The leader of the Department of Culture and Information of Sa Pa Ward said that this year's festival, the tourism industry has coordinated with businesses to organize many stimulus programs, focusing on promoting winter tourism - a unique advantage of Sa Pa.

It is expected that in the opening week of the festival, Sa Pa will welcome tens of thousands of visitors, an increase compared to the same period last year. Many tourists said they will return during Christmas or New Year's Day to have the opportunity to see ice and snow if the weather continues to be very cold.
