    Hang Be market is crowded on the last day of the year when families prepare year-end offerings.

    Chợ Hàng Bè – khu chợ lâu đời nằm giữa phố Gia Ngư, Hàng Bè và ngõ Trung Yên, kề Hồ Gươm – từ lâu được xem là nơi sắm lễ quen thuộc của người dân phố cổ mỗi dịp cuối năm.
    Hang Be Market - a long-standing market located between Gia Ngu, Hang Be streets and Trung Yen alley, adjacent to Hoan Kiem Lake - has long been considered a familiar place to shop for offerings for people in the Old Quarter every year-end.
    Được mệnh danh là “chợ nhà giàu”, nơi đây vẫn hút khách nhờ thực phẩm tinh tươm, chế biến sẵn, bày biện đẹp mắt. Vào mùa cúng tất niên, chỉ cần dạo một vòng, các gia đình có thể chuẩn bị trọn vẹn mâm lễ.
    Dubbed the "rich market", this place still attracts customers thanks to fresh, pre-processed food and beautiful decorations. In the year-end worship season, just strolling around, families can fully prepare the offering tray.
    Những món quen thuộc như gà luộc ngậm hoa hồng, chim quay, xôi, nem, canh bóng, canh măng… liên tục được đưa ra quầy.
    Familiar dishes such as bóng soup, măng soup, chim tần, nem... are continuously brought to the counter.
    Ngoài gà, các quầy tôm chiên, rau xào, thịt rán, xôi gấc, xôi chè, trầu cau… cũng tấp nập người hỏi mua. Giá dao động từ vài chục đến vài trăm nghìn đồng mỗi phần, tùy loại.

    Gà cúng là mặt hàng nổi bật nhất. Mỗi con nặng khoảng 2 kg, giá phổ biến quanh mức 200.000 đồng/kg, cao hơn chợ dân sinh. Loại tuyển, dáng đẹp, da vàng óng có thể lên tới vài trăm nghìn đến hơn một triệu đồng một con tùy kích cỡ.
    Offered chickens are the most prominent item. Each chicken weighs about 2 kg. The selected type, beautiful shape, golden skin can cost up to 700,000 to more than one million VND per chicken. Chickens are cleaned, tied with fairy wings and boiled on the spot to keep the heat. At peak times near Tet, traders process hundreds of orders of boiled chickens every day, not to mention side dishes.

Everyone is taking advantage of completing shopping to promptly arrange ancestral altars before the moment of reunion. On the last day of the year, the market usually sells until about early afternoon, then small traders take a break to prepare for the opening of spring in the first days of the new year.
