According to statistics from the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Ngai province, during the Lunar New Year 2025, tourist attractions in the province welcomed nearly 110,000 visitors. Of which, Minh Duc Pagoda took the lead with more than 32,000 visitors.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Le, resident of Tinh Giang commune, Son Tinh district, Quang Ngai province, shared: "Although my house is about 35km from Minh Duc pagoda, my family still takes time to visit and burn incense at the pagoda during the 2025 Lunar New Year. We are looking forward to the completion of the Quan Am statue."
Located in Thien Ma Cultural Area, Minh Duc Pagoda is built on an area of nearly 90 hectares in Ngang Mountain, Tinh Long and Tinh Khe communes, Quang Ngai city. The project started in 2018.
The spiritual cultural area with a total investment of more than 1,000 billion VND was approved by Quang Ngai province at the end of 2017.
Currently, Long Hoa Vien area and Maitreya statue have been completed. This is a Buddhist spiritual cultural area, including many areas such as Buddha statue, square, Buddhist museum, stupa, Long Hoa Vien, Bach Ma garden, Thap Phap Gioi, Thien Duong area, Phuong Y Duong and Noi Vien.
In particular, Minh Duc Pagoda stands out with a 125m high statue of Buddha Quan Am, which has now been completed. This is the tallest statue of Buddha Quan Am in Vietnam, surpassing the 72m high Buddha statue at Ba Den Mountain (Tay Ninh) and the 71m high statue at Linh An Pagoda (Da Lat City).
With a favorable location, located on the tourist route connecting the most beautiful destinations in Quang Ngai such as My Khe beach, Ba Lang, Ly Son island, Minh Duc pagoda and Thien Ma Cultural Area, it is expected to contribute to promoting tourism in Quang Ngai province to develop strongly in the coming time.
The pagoda is located in a very beautiful location. When coming here, visitors also have the opportunity to see the whole view of Quang Ngai city from the top of Thien Ma mountain.
