Yen Bai - These days, the H'Mong people in Na Hau are eagerly celebrating the forest Tet and meeting, exchanging, and wishing each other a peaceful new year.

Immediately after happily receiving the certificate of National Intangible Cultural Heritage with the H'Mong Forest Worship Ceremony of Na Hau Commune, on February 27, the local people held a sacred and unique forest worship ceremony in three sacred forests of three villages in the commune, Ban Tat, Trung Tam, and Ba Khuy.

Na Hau is located in the core area of Na Hau Nature Reserve. The H'Mong community here mainly moved from Si Ma Cai and Bac Ha districts, Lao Cai province since 1979.

Every year, on the last day of the first lunar month, people worship the forest in the forbidden forest of three villages in the commune, Ban Tat, Trung Tam, Ba Khuy, where the highest ancient apple trees are located.
Ong Vu Xuan Ba – Bi thu Dang bo xa Na Hau, huyen Van Yen, tinh Yen Bai cho biet: “Tet rung khong chi la nghi le doc dao co y nghia tam linh cau phuc, gop phan bao ton cac gia tri vat chat, tinh than trong cong dong cac dan toc ma con thiet thuc gop phan vao cong tac quan ly, bao ve tai nguyen rung cung nhu bao ve moi truong sinh thai. Trong Tet rung, cac thon ban se to chuc Hoi the giu rung de danh gia ket qua cong tac bao ve rung, tuyen duong cac gia dinh lam tot va nhac nho, phe binh cac ho lam chua tot. Moi nguoi cung nhau cam ket cung nhau doan ket giu rung, khong ai duoc vi pham cac quy dinh chung cua lang”.
Mr. Vu Xuan Ba - Secretary of the Party Committee of Na Hau commune, Van Yen district, Yen Bai province said: "Forest Tet is not only a unique ceremony with spiritual and spiritual significance, contributing to the preservation of material and spiritual values in the ethnic community but also practically contributing to the management and protection of forest resources as well as the protection of the ecological environment. During the forest Tet, villages and hamlets will organize a Forest Protection Oath-taking Association to evaluate the results of forest protection work, commend families doing well and remind and criticize households doing poorly. Everyone together pledges to unite and protect the forest, no one must violate the general regulations of the village".

For decoration, people spread leaves to move the trays out to eat, or set up tables and chairs made of fresh bamboo like Ban Tat does. After that, people will celebrate Tet for three more days.
Ve Na Hau nhung ngay cuoi thang Gieng, dau thang Hai am lich, nguoi dan va du khach se cam nhan duoc khong khi nao nuc don Tet rung cua ba con nguoi Mong. Net dac sac cua Tet rung da tao tinh lan toa ra dong bao cac dan toc khac trong huyen Van Yen.
Coming to Na Hau in late January and early February, people and tourists will feel the bustling atmosphere of the H'Mong people celebrating the forest Tet. The unique features of the forest Tet have spread to other ethnic groups in Van Yen district.
