Thung Ui is located in Tay Hoa Lu ward, Ninh Binh province, about 2km from Bai Dinh Pagoda. With a closed valley terrain, surrounded by overlapping limestone mountain ranges and a natural lake system, this place has a pristine, quiet beauty and rich landscape value.
Previously, Thung Ui was a little-known location. In recent years, along with investing in building spiritual cultural works such as Kinh Thien Temple, Kinh Dia Temple, Kinh Nhan Temple and some other auxiliary items, this place has gradually become a new highlight in the spiritual cultural space of the ancient capital of Hoa Lu.
According to the Management Board of Thung Ui Tourist Area, although it has not officially opened to welcome guests, in the past time, many tourists and photographers have come here to capture beautiful moments. Many people commented that this place has pristine, quiet scenery, lush green trees, cool lakes and unique architecture like a destination in ancient costume films.
Currently, the unit is urgently completing the final items of this tourist destination, and at the same time fostering and training human resources to be ready to serve and welcome tourists to visit and experience during the Binh Ngo Lunar New Year 2026.
Mr. Bui Van Manh - Director of Ninh Binh Department of Tourism said that in 2026, Ninh Binh aims to welcome 20 million visitors, including 3 million international visitors. The formation and renewal of tourism products such as Thung Ui not only contributes to diversifying the experience space in the Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex but also creates more stops, extends stay time and increases tourist spending.
Especially during the Lunar New Year holiday, when the demand for spring travel, sightseeing, and returning to spiritual cultural values is increasing, new destinations such as Thung Ui are expected to become an important "piece" in the Ninh Binh tourism picture, bringing tourists a meaningful spring trip and pilgrimage.
With the advantages of pristine natural landscapes and quiet space, Thung Ui is considered a suitable destination for ecotourism, resorts, and local cultural experiences. Spiritual building systems and stilt houses are restored, harmoniously exploited, and maximally respect the values of natural landscapes.
Recently, Ninh Binh Tourism Association organized a Farmtrip program to survey Thung Ui Tourist Area, through actual surveys, many delegates expressed their impression of the pristine beauty of mountains, forests, valleys and natural ecosystems that are still quite intact.
In particular, the preservation and promotion of traditional cultural values, especially Muong culture in the Thung Ui area, is highly appreciated by experts and travel businesses. This is considered an important factor in creating differentiation, contributing to enriching Ninh Binh's tourism products in the future" - Mr. Manh shared.
