A corner of old Hanoi is filled with flags and flowers to celebrate the Capital Liberation Day

    On the morning of October 5, many people visited the old Hanoi space at Phung Hung mural street (Hoan Kiem district), on the occasion of the Capital Liberation Day.

    Early in the morning of a weekend, in the chilly autumn air, people and tourists inside and outside Hanoi eagerly flocked to admire and take photos with the ancient Hanoi space from 1947 - 1954, imbued with historical colors at Phung Hung mural street.
    With the theme “Memories of Hanoi - 70 years”, the Management Board of Hoan Kiem Lake and Hanoi Old Quarter, in collaboration with artists and researchers, recreated the space of ancient Hanoi in the Old Quarter during the period of National Resistance of Hanoi's army and people until the day of taking over the Capital (1947 - 1954).

    Through decorative art, the arrangement of ancient quarter models, welcome gates, flags, banners, and slogans, “Memories of Hanoi - 70 years” has brought the ancient, simple beauty of Hanoi in the jubilant atmosphere welcoming the victorious army back to the capital 70 years ago.

    The couple played music and sang together, bringing joyful sounds under the colorful flags and flowers at Phung Hung mural street.

    People attentively visit the documentary photo exhibition with the theme “Hoan Kiem District - historical images”. The exhibition aims to introduce documentary photos of Hoan Kiem District during a challenging and glorious decade - from the August Revolution in 1945 to the day of taking over the capital on October 10, 1954.

    At Phung Hung mural space, visitors have the opportunity to learn about some traditional occupations, tourist gift products or typical culinary dishes of Hanoi.
    Pho bich hoa Phung Hung chay song song voi cau can duong sat. Vi vay, khi toi tham quan khong gian Ha Noi xua, du khach cung co the ngam duoc canh doan tau di qua vo cung an tuong.
    Phung Hung mural street runs parallel to the railway overpass. Therefore, when visiting the space recreating Hanoi “the time of fire and flowers”, in addition to taking photos, visitors can also watch the impressive scene of trains passing by.

    Historical spaces; experiential activities, exchanges with researchers about the day of taking over the capital; interactive activities of experiencing military uniforms, making rubber sandals, enjoying songs about Hanoi... will take place until October 13 at Phung Hung Street. The space promises to bring interesting and meaningful experiences to people and tourists coming to Hanoi on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Capital Liberation Day.
