4 airports stopped operating to avoid storm No. 10, a series of flights were delayed and canceled

Due to the impact of storm No. 10 Bualoi, 4 airports in the Central region have stopped receiving aircraft, and a series of flights have been canceled.

According to the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam, 4 airports in the Central region, Da Nang (Da Nang), Phu Bai (Thua Thien Hue), Dong Hoi (Quang Tri) and Tho Xuan (Thanh Hoa) airports, temporarily suspended operations on September 28. Specifically, the information on temporary suspension by the hour is as follows:

Da Nang Airport: stops accepting flights from 6am to 11am on September 28.

Phu Bai Airport: stops accepting flights from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on September 28.

Dong Hoi Airport: stops accepting flights from 13:00 to 22:00 on September 28.

Tho Xuan Airport: stops accepting flights from 10:00 p.m. on September 28 to 7:00 a.m. on September 29.

In addition, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam also recommends that Noi Bai (Hanoi), Van Don (Quang Ninh), Cat Bi (Hai Phong), and Chu Lai (Quang Ngai) airports proactively update information and take precautions when storm No. 10 has unusual developments.

Airlines also updated information on flight adjustments on September 28.

Specifically, Vietnam Airlines has flights VN1597 (Hanoi - Dong Hoi) and VN1404 (HCMC - Dong Hoi) taking off early at 5:30 a.m.; flight VN1590 (Dong Hoi - Hanoi) taking off at 7:10 a.m.; flight VN1405 (Dong Hoi - Ho Chi Minh City) taking off at 7:45.

Flight VN7270 (HCMC - Tho Xuan) took off at 7:00 a.m.; flight VN7271 (Tho Xuan - HCMC) took off at 9:25 a.m.

Flights to and from Phu Bai airport (Thua Thien Hue) of Vietnam Airlines were canceled. Flights to and from Da Nang International Airport have been suspended until 12:00 on the same day.

Vietjet Air announced on September 28 to temporarily suspend many flights at 4 airports in the Central region.

Dong Hoi airport temporarily stops receiving flights from 1pm to 10pm, causing the airline to cancel 2 flights VJ260, VJ261 on the Ho Chi Minh City - Dong Hoi - Ho Chi Minh City route.

The airline temporarily suspended 6 flights to and from Phu Bai airport: Flight VJ1318, VJ1319, VJ318, VJ319 route HCMC - Hue - HCMC, flight VJ563, VJ560 route Hanoi - Hue - Hanoi.

At Da Nang International Airport, Vietjet airline said that there were 10 canceled flights: VJ547, VJ548, VJ1501, VJ1504, VJ545, VJ546 on the Hanoi - Da Nang - Hanoi route, and VJ1632, VJ1623, VJ1644, VJ1633 on the Ho Chi Minh City - Da Nang - Ho Chi Minh City route.

During the temporary suspension of flights at 4 airports and due to the impact of storm No. 10, many other domestic and international routes may be affected.

Storm No. 10 Bualoi is forecast to affect Thanh Hoa to northern Quang Tri provinces, the area near the storm's eye will have strong winds of level 10 - 12, gusting to level 14.

Updated at 1:00 p.m. on September 28, the center of storm No. 10 Bualoi was at about 17.1 degrees North latitude; 108.3 degrees East longitude, about 90 km East Northeast of Hue City, about 190 km South Southeast of North Quang Tri.

The strongest wind near the storm center is level 12 (118 - 133 km/h), gusting to level 15.
