According to Mr. Bui Hong Minh - Deputy Director of Quang Ninh Provincial Department of Construction - about 60 tourist boats will be divided into 2 groups, running along Ha Long Bay in 2 directions: one direction from Ha Long International Passenger Port, Bai Chay ward to the coastal road area of Hong Gai ward; the other group parades from Bai Chay beach area to Tuan Chau International Passenger Port.
All tourist boats will be lit with colorful electric lights combined with about 10 minutes of fireworks display on each boat, contributing to creating an effect for exciting activities on the shore.
In particular, unlike previous cruise ship parades, this time, the ships are allowed to serve tourists to visit and experience.
This will be a special experience opportunity for tourists. The light festival on cruise ships takes place from April 28 to May 2, 2026, is one of 14 activities within the framework of Quang Ninh province's Culture, Sports, and Tourism Week welcoming summer 2026, with the theme "Ha Long Carnaval 2026 - A Wonder that illuminates the new era", taking place in many locations in the province, focusing on Ha Long, Hong Gai, Bai Chay, Yen Tu wards.
Prominent is the art program "Opening of Ha Long Carnival 2026", scheduled to take place at 8:00 PM on April 30th at 30.10 Square, Ha Long ward, with a scale of over 80,000 people, broadcast live on Vietnam Television.
According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Thuy - Deputy Director of Quang Ninh Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism - for the first time at Ha Long Carnaval, there was the participation of representatives of mass parades from 54 communes, wards, and special zones of Quang Ninh province.
Each delegation will bring to Ha Long Carnaval the unique cultural features of each commune, ward, and special zone.
