On July 22, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Gia Lai province announced the 2026 National Beach Football Championship, organized by the Department in coordination with the Vietnam Football Federation.
The tournament is an activity in response to the 2026 National Tourism Year and the campaign "All people practice physical exercise following the example of the great Uncle Ho", contributing to promoting the image, cultural identity, and people of Gia Lai, while introducing the sea tourism potential of the province to domestic and foreign tourists.
The tournament will take place from July 23 to August 1 at the beach soccer field in the Victory Monument area, Xuan Dieu street, Quy Nhon ward. The opening ceremony will be held at 6:45 PM on July 23.
Participating in the tournament are 8 teams including Da Nang, Hue Time Square, Tay Ninh, Tai Ngan - Quy Nhon, Ho Chi Minh City, Tre Gia Lai, VietFootball and Phu Yen - Dak Lak. The teams are divided into 2 groups, playing in a round-robin format to calculate points, selecting the teams with the best results to enter the next round.
This is the season with the most participating teams since the tournament was organized, showing the increasing attraction of beach soccer as well as the interest of localities in this sport.
Up to now, the preparation work is basically completed. The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Gia Lai province has coordinated with the Vietnam Football Federation and related units to complete facilities, equipment, propaganda work, ensure security and order, health and logistical conditions to serve the tournament.
The referee supervisory force and referees have completed professional training classes, updated the Beach Soccer Competition Laws and are ready to officiate matches.
