According to storm news, the latest low pressure from the Joint Typhoon Warning Center (JTWC), the low pressure in the East Sea has officially made landfall.
As of this afternoon, July 14, the center of the low pressure is located in the mainland area of Guangdong province (China). The low pressure is moving in the Northwest direction, advancing deep into the mainland with the strongest wind near the center of the low pressure reaching 35 km/h.
JTWC forecasts that this low pressure is unlikely to strengthen into a tropical depression or storm in the next 24 hours.
Due to the influence of the low pressure, the coastal area of Guangdong province (China) has widespread heavy rain.
According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, on the morning of July 14, Phu Quy special zone had southwest wind level 5, sometimes level 6, gusting to level 7; Phu Quoc special zone had gusts of level 9. The North and Central East Sea areas (including Hoang Sa special zone), the sea area from Lam Dong to Ca Mau, from Ca Mau to An Giang and the Gulf of Thailand are experiencing showers and thunderstorms.
Forecast for the day and night of July 14, the sea area from Dak Lak to Ho Chi Minh City, the Central East Sea area and the east of the Northern East Sea area will have strong southwest winds at level 6, gusts at level 7-8, rough seas, waves 2-3 m high, especially the Central East Sea area waves 2-4 m high.
To the west of the Southern East Sea area (including the sea area west of Truong Sa special zone) there is Southwest wind level 5, sometimes level 6, gusts level 7-8, rough seas, waves 1.5-3.5 m high.
At the same time, the Northern Gulf of Tonkin, the sea area from Lam Dong to Ca Mau, from Ca Mau to An Giang, the Gulf of Thailand, the North and Central East Sea (including the Hoang Sa special zone) and the sea area west of the South East Sea (including the sea area west of the Truong Sa special zone) will have showers and thunderstorms. In thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, strong gusts of wind at level 7-8 and sea waves over 2 m high.
On July 15, day and night, the sea area from Gia Lai to Lam Dong, the Central East Sea area and the eastern sea area of the Northern East Sea continue to have strong southwest winds of level 5, sometimes level 6, gusts of level 7-8; sea waves are 1.5-3.5 m high, rough seas. Disaster risk level due to strong winds at sea is level 2.
The meteorological agency warns that all ships operating in the above areas are at high risk of being affected by strong winds, large waves and tornadoes during thunderstorms.
