According to storm news, the latest low pressure from the Joint Typhoon Warning Center (JTWC), on the morning of July 30, super typhoon Dolphin (Japan's storm No. 13) is in a position about 335 km south-southwest of Wake Island.
The strongest wind near the storm center reached 260 km/h. In the past 6 hours, the storm has moved in the Northwest direction at a speed of about 20 km/h. The maximum sea wave is about 12.8 m high.
JTWC predicts that in the next 3 days, super typhoon Dolphin will continue to move northwest along the western edge of the subtropical high pressure located in the East.
Then, when a large high pressure area forms and maintains in the Northwest of the Hawaiian archipelago, the storm's trajectory will gradually shift to the West.
In terms of intensity, the JTWC forecasts that super typhoon Dolphin will maintain its strength in the next 24 hours as it is undergoing a cycle of replacing as a storm eye. After this process is completed, the storm is likely to strengthen further in the next 2 days. The maximum intensity of super typhoon Dolphin can reach about 270 km/h, equivalent to 145 knots, before entering a phase of gradual weakening.
However, Super Typhoon Dolphin still carries extremely strong winds and maintains super typhoon intensity until the end of this week.
Because it is still far from the mainland, the super typhoon only causes thunderstorms and big waves at sea, and does not significantly affect the mainland areas around the Pacific Ocean.
In the East Sea, according to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, on the morning of July 30, at Phu Quy station there was level 5 Southwest wind, the sea area from Ho Chi Minh City to Ca Mau, Ca Mau to An Giang, Gulf of Thailand, the North, Central and South East Sea areas (including Hoang Sa and Truong Sa special zones) had scattered showers and thunderstorms.
Forecast for the day and night of July 30, the sea area from Khanh Hoa to Ho Chi Minh City and the west of the Central East Sea area will have strong southwest winds of level 5, sometimes level 6, gusts of level 7-8; waves 2.0-3.0m high, rough seas.
In addition, the Gulf of Tonkin, the sea area from Khanh Hoa to Ca Mau, Ca Mau to An Giang, the Gulf of Thailand, the North, Central and South East Sea areas will have showers and thunderstorms. In thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, strong gusts of wind at level 7-8, sea waves over 2.0m high.
On July 31st day and night, the sea area from Khanh Hoa to Ho Chi Minh City and the west of the Central East Sea area will continue to have strong southwest winds of level 5 during the day, sometimes level 6, gusts of level 7-8, waves 2.0-3.0m high, rough seas; night winds gradually decrease.
