According to storm news, the latest low pressure from the US National Hurricane Center (NHC), a tropical depression is strengthening over the Pacific Ocean.
As of the morning of July 27, the tropical depression is located in the southwest of the Hawaiian archipelago. The strongest wind near the center of the tropical depression reaches 55 km/h.
The tropical depression is moving mainly in the West direction at a speed of about 20-25 km/h. During its movement, the tropical depression will continue to strengthen as it heads towards the Western Pacific.
The NHC forecasts that the tropical depression will strengthen into a storm this afternoon, July 27, with winds reaching 75 km/h. After that, this storm will continue to strengthen fiercely and reach the super typhoon threshold this weekend with winds reaching 240 km/h.
Meanwhile, super typhoon Genevieve and hurricane Fausto are still active in the East and Central Pacific regions.
Typhoon Fausto is currently having winds of 140 km/h. It is forecast that in the next few days, Typhoon Fausto will continue to move west to west-northwest at a relatively stable speed. As it moves north of the Hawaiian archipelago, the system is forecast to weaken into a tropical storm, with strong thunderstorms gradually separating from the storm's center and strong winds mainly concentrated in the north of the circulation.
Meanwhile, super typhoon Genevieve strengthened fiercely with winds reaching 250 km/h. The typhoon is also moving west to west-northwest at a speed of 22 km/h and is forecast to continue to strengthen to 260 km/h. After reaching its maximum tomorrow, July 28, the super typhoon is forecast to gradually weaken but still reach the hurricane threshold in at least the next 4 days.
