On November 4, the Management Board of Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang Tourist Beaches (under the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang City) said that to ensure the safety of people and tourists, travel and sightseeing on the entire route in Son Tra Peninsula will continue to be suspended until further notice.
Accordingly, the temporary suspension of sightseeing activities due to the impact of prolonged heavy rain and it is forecasted that Da Nang city may be affected by storm No. 13 (storm Kalmaegi). Currently, the weather in the area is still complicated, with the potential risk of landslides and flash floods.
Functional forces including Son Tra Ward Police, Son Tra Border Guard, Ward Military Command, Public Service Supply Center, Son Tra Peninsula Management Board and Da Nang tourist beaches, Special Forests Management Board... organized checkpoints, controls and guided people and tourists to ensure safety.
The Management Board recommends that people and tourists do not travel arbitrarily to the Son Tra peninsula during the temporary suspension of traffic; limit going out when there is heavy rain, strong winds or thick fog, especially in steep passes, streams and areas at high risk of landslides.
People and tourists should absolutely not go to rocky, rough, and coastal areas when there are big waves to avoid danger. Everyone strictly follows the instructions of the authorities, proactively prevent and protect their safety and the community when the weather is developing abnormally.
Previously, due to the impact of storm No. 12, Da Nang city was likely to experience widespread heavy rain, with the risk of flash floods and landslides. To ensure the safety of people and tourists, the Management Board has announced a temporary suspension of sightseeing on Son Tra peninsula from 2:00 p.m. on October 22, 2025 until further notice. Currently, floods have caused landslides and rockslides on some roads in the peninsula, endangering traffic.
