Aviation activities in Vietnam are affected as storm No. 6 Tra Mi heads towards the coast of central provinces such as Quang Tri, Thua Thien Hue, Da Nang...

According to the latest storm news, at 3:00 p.m. on October 26, storm Tra Mi was in the waters of the Hoang Sa archipelago, about 380 km east-northeast of Da Nang. The intensity reached level 11 (103-117 km/h), gusting to level 14. It is forecasted that in the next 3 hours, the storm will maintain a speed of about 20 km, moving west.

To ensure safety at airports, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam has decided to stop receiving and operating aircraft at Phu Bai International Airport from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. on October 27, 2024.

Da Nang International Airport temporarily suspends operations from 6:00 a.m. on October 27 to 4:00 a.m. on October 28, 2024.

Dong Hoi Airport will stop operating from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on October 27, 2024.

Chu Lai Airport stops receiving aircraft from 10:00 on October 27 to 10:00 on October 28, 2024 (local time).

Port authorities are responsible for inspecting and supervising the safety of operations at airports according to regulations.

On October 27, Vietnam Airlines adjusted flights VN1591, VN1590 Hanoi - Dong Hoi - Hanoi to depart 2 hours earlier; VN1468, VN1469 Ho Chi Minh City - Chu Lai - Ho Chi Minh City to depart 1 hour and 55 minutes earlier.

Vietnam Airlines recommends that customers regularly monitor and update storm information to proactively plan their travel during this period. Changes arising from the impact of bad weather will be updated on the fanpage, website or sent via phone or email that customers used when booking tickets.

Meanwhile, Vietjet announced that on October 27-28, 2024, storm Tra Mi is expected to affect flights to and from Dong Hoi (Quang Binh), Hue, Da Nang, Chu Lai (Quang Nam) and international flights to and from Hong Kong (China), China, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan (China).

Residents and tourists are advised to regularly monitor storm forecasts and follow recommendations and instructions from local authorities.
