On November 28, the Traffic Project Management Board held a groundbreaking ceremony for the Dan Thanh Inland Waterway Construction Project, an important infrastructure project expected to create a breakthrough in the development of waterway tourism and cargo transportation in the locality.
The project aims to complete the province's waterway tourism infrastructure, forming a modern pick-up and drop-off point, helping to expand tourism development space and strengthen connectivity in the Mekong Delta, especially connecting the Vinh Long - Con Dao waterway.
The project is invested by the Vinh Long Provincial Traffic Project Management Board, with the consulting unit being the Hai Hai Construction Consulting Joint Stock Company. The project will be implemented in Duyen Hai ward, Vinh Long province using provincial budget capital, in the period of 2025 - 2027.
According to the report, the project includes main items: an 86m long, 10m wide approach bridge; an operating area, waiting room and logistics services of about 6,200m2; a 920m long cement concrete approach road, 5.5m wide road surface with 2×1.0m sidewalk.
The project also includes a system of electricity supply, water supply, drainage, lighting, trees and works to ensure traffic safety. The total investment is 79.6 billion VND, the construction period is 270 days and is expected to be completed on April 30, 2026.
The Dan Thanh Inland Waterway Project was started with many strategic goals, which are important for the sustainable development of Vinh Long.
