Binh Dinh and Phu Yen earn hundreds of billions from tourism during Tet

On the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2025, the number of visitors to Binh Dinh and Phu Yen for sightseeing and tourism increased, earning hundreds of billions of VND from tourism.

On February 4, Mr. Tran Van Thanh - Director of the Department of Tourism of Binh Dinh province said that the total number of visitors staying and visiting the province during the 9 days of Lunar New Year holiday (ie December 26 to January 5, At Ty year) reached over 410,000 visitors, an increase of 12%; total revenue from tourists reached over 345 billion VND, an increase of 11.5% over the same period in 2024.

This Tet holiday, Binh Dinh attracts a large number of tourists from Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and neighboring provinces.

During the Tet holiday, there are about 162 flights to Phu Cat airport (an average of 18 flights/day, an increase of more than 55 flights compared to Tet 2024) from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

There are 252 trains going to/from Dieu Tri station and Quy Nhon station (an average of 28 trains per day), an increase of more than 40 trips compared to Tet 2024.

"The travel trend of many tourists is to travel in small groups, families, for short stays, using personal vehicles, so they do not book hotel rooms in advance," said Mr. Thanh.

During the 9 days of Tet, the total number of guests staying at tourist accommodation establishments reached over 39,000, an increase of 8.4% over the same period in 2024.

The room occupancy rate of accommodation establishments in the province reached from 20% to 40%. Of which, from January 31 to February 1 (the 3rd and 4th days of Tet), some 1 to 5 star hotels reached 90% occupancy rate.

The number of visitors during Tet at major tourist areas and destinations reached more than 370,000, an increase of 61% over the same period in 2024.

In particular, Nguyen Tat Thanh Square welcomed over 100,000 officials, people and tourists to watch the New Year's Eve art program and visit and check in at the mascot cluster.

Quang Trung Museum, Kinh Thien Monument; Mai Xuan Thuong Mausoleum; Admiral Bui Thi Xuan Temple and Grand Tutor Vo Van Dung Temple welcomed more than 35,000 visitors...

According to the Director of the Department of Tourism of Binh Dinh province, through on-site inspection, most units have well prepared equipment, facilities, infrastructure, and resources to serve tourists, ensuring service quality and food hygiene and safety for tourists. Fire prevention, security and order, ensuring good operation and implementation.

"Travel agencies have prepared well the means of transporting passengers. In addition to traditional tour products, businesses have actively built tours to serve customers during Tet associated with festivals," said Mr. Thanh.

In Phu Yen, the total number of tourists coming to the province from January 29 to February 2 (the first to the fifth day of Tet) reached 116,500; total revenue is estimated at VND247 billion, up 11% over the same period last year. Of which, international visitors increased by 51% over the same period last year.

According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Phu Yen province, to serve tourists during Tet, tourism businesses in the province have organized many tourism activities, helping to increase the number of guests staying (reaching 64,800, up 9% over the same period last year).

Average room occupancy rate is over 62%, some large hotels such as Sala Grand Tuy Hoa reach 100% room occupancy rate on the 3rd to 5th of Tet; Rosa Alba Resort has 100% room occupancy rate on the 3rd and 4th of Tet; hotels and homestays near the beach have room occupancy rate of over 80% on the 3rd and 4th of Tet.
