Considered a precious gem in the heart of the Central region, how do you evaluate the potential and position of Binh Dinh tourism on the current map of Vietnam?
Binh Dinh is a land rich in tourism potential. In recent years, the province's tourism industry has continuously developed, affirming its position as an attractive new destination on the Vietnam tourism map. With remarkable growth, Binh Dinh is currently in the top 5 - top 6 provinces and cities with the strongest tourism development in the country.
In the coming time, what type of tourism will Binh Dinh focus on developing to conquer tourists and create its own mark?
In the coming period, Binh Dinh will focus on developing tourism types based on its existing strengths such as sea and island tourism, exploring scenic spots and exploiting the value of more than 120 historical and cultural relics. In particular, we are investing heavily in event tourism combining culture and sports, typically organizing national and international events such as the recent F1H2O Powerboat Race, an event that has caused a great stir.
With the goal of becoming an attractive destination, how should Binh Dinh improve its transportation infrastructure, accommodation and amenities to enhance the experience for tourists?
Improving infrastructure is a key factor in enhancing the visitor experience. We have been investing in the transport system, creating seamless connections between localities and key tourist destinations. At the same time, new standards of service quality are being widely applied, with the participation of more than 55 tourism businesses.
Along with that, we will strengthen cooperation with media units to promote the image of Binh Dinh in a more systematic and professional manner. We also identify the development of transport infrastructure, high-quality accommodation and the expansion of new tourism products as key strategies to attract and retain tourists.
How do you evaluate the current development of night tourism in Binh Dinh?
In 2024, Binh Dinh tourism welcomed 9.2 million visitors, earning VND25,500 billion. These are unprecedented numbers. However, currently, domestic tourists to Binh Dinh are almost saturated.
The current weakness of the province is the lack of specialized entertainment areas and unique night tourism products, which has affected the attractiveness of tourism. Therefore, our important orientation is to focus on exploiting new destinations and bustling entertainment areas, developing diverse tourism products, in order to retain domestic and international tourists.
Along with that, we focus on developing the night economy - a field with great potential but currently not fully exploited. We have worked with a number of businesses on organizing exciting entertainment activities along Quy Nhon beach, aiming to bring unique experiences at night to visitors in the near future.
Currently, the trend of community tourism associated with local identity is becoming more and more popular. Does the province have any policies to support the development of this model?
The Department of Tourism has coordinated with localities to implement policies to support the development of community tourism. The provincial budget will support infrastructure improvements such as road expansion, construction of parking lots or necessary infrastructure, to facilitate the development of community tourism models. In particular, from 2025, each locality will develop at least one unique tourism product bearing the typical characteristics of the region.
By 2030, what is Binh Dinh's goal for tourism development?
According to the general planning of Binh Dinh province approved by the Government, tourism is identified as one of the five pillars of development of the province. By 2030, our goal is to make Binh Dinh one of the leading tourist centers in the country.
It is expected that by 2027-2028, when major projects such as modern entertainment areas, shopping centers and international-class attractions come into operation, the province's tourism industry will develop strongly, bringing Binh Dinh far on the world tourism map.
