On the morning of November 6, Binh Thuan Tourism Association coordinated with other units to organize the program "Binh Thuan Tourism: Greening roadmap to sustainable development".
At the program, Mr. Nguyen Minh - Vice Chairman of Binh Thuan Provincial People's Committee said that in the locality, tourism activities, as a key economic sector, are also being promoted to quickly transform to green, creating momentum to accelerate the comprehensive development process.
Representative of the Organizing Committee, Dr. Tran Du Lich - Vice President of the Vietnam International Arbitration Center, stated that green tourism is a global trend as it helps to limit negative impacts on the environment, enhance local cultural values, and preserve natural heritages. Bringing green standards into life is difficult, "greening" business activities will be even more difficult, requiring more systematic methods.
Mr. Bui The Nhan - Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Binh Thuan province said that businesses are focusing on investing in facilities in the direction of saving energy, minimizing environmental impacts such as prioritizing the use of environmentally friendly materials, minimizing the use of plastic.
From the perspective of representing tourism businesses, Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa - Chairman of Binh Thuan Province Tourism Association said that, aiming for green and sustainable development, tourism businesses have switched to using green fuels such as wind energy and solar energy; limiting fuels and electricity generation that are harmful to the environment.
According to Mr. Khoa, in order for green tourism to become popular and effective, it is necessary to soon develop green criteria. At the same time, the government and relevant agencies should also review and give opinions on adjusting and perfecting the legal framework for tourism in general and green tourism in particular.
According to many resorts in Phan Thiet, the water bottles used at the resort are glass bottles for reuse, saying no to plastic bottles. The bags for tourists' belongings are also woven bags, not plastic bags. Or the garbage is classified right at the resort and there is also a program "Keep Mui Ne clean" maintained for the past 10 years, organizing regular garbage collection.
In addition to solutions and proposals to green tourism, lawyers from the Vietnam International Arbitration Center discussed the development of green tourism from a legal perspective and notes when cooperating in business and investment in the tourism sector.
In addition to the presentations of experts, the guests discussed and made many proposals to promote the development of green tourism and green tourism models in the province.
