The Heritage Culture Festival and the 1st Hot Air Balloon Festival bring unique art forms from the North, Central, and South to gather in Ca Mau.

Heritage bridges connecting the three regions

Within the framework of the 1st Heritage Culture Festival and Hot Air Balloon Festival, Ca Mau became a rendezvous for many typical types of intangible cultural heritage. Cultural colors from North, Central, and South converge, bringing new experiences to people and tourists.

The space of the Northern countryside is vividly recreated through the water puppetry art of Dao Thuc Folk Water Puppetry Theater, Hanoi.

Mr. Dang Minh Hung - Chairman of Dao Thuc Folk Water Puppet Theater - said that this is the first time the unit has come to Ca Mau to perform for the people.

Water puppetry is a unique art form of the Vietnamese people. We want to bring this art form for people to enjoy and discover the unique features of the heritage," Mr. Hung shared.

In addition to performances, the Hanoi delegation also introduced typical products and souvenirs of the Capital, contributing to bringing the cultural features of the thousand-year-old land of civilization closer to the people of the South.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong, who watched water puppetry live for the first time, said she was very excited to witness firsthand the artists both controlling the puppets and dubbing the characters.

Along with water puppetry, the gentle and smooth Quan Ho melodies of Bac Ninh also captivate the audience. From the northern mountains, the Then singing of the Tay people rises, bringing a unique cultural color.

Meanwhile, the art of Bai Choi in Central Vietnam creates a joyful and exciting atmosphere through witty folk chants and folk songs.

Ca Mau heritage blends with the cultural flow

In the space converging the heritage of the three regions, Ca Mau culture also left its own mark.

The performance of large drum music by the Khmer people of Ca Mau impressed with the vibrant drumbeats harmonizing with traditional dances.

In particular, the Don ca tai tu space - a representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity - becomes a highlight of the Festival. Sweet lyrics and poignant music of Southern artisans and talents contribute to connecting cultural flows from many regions.

Artisan Khuu Hoai Thuong, Ca Mau Provincial Cultural Center, said that artisans and talented artists are very excited to perform in their own homeland, bringing Don ca tai tu to blend with the unique heritage types of the country.

Ms. Tran Thu Huong, from Ninh Binh, who has lived in Ca Mau for more than 30 years, said that the Festival has created a special cultural space, where people can enjoy the unique features of many regions.

Every place in Vietnam has its own unique culture. I am very proud to immerse myself in this space and hope that such activities will continue to be organized so that people have more opportunities to enjoy national cultural values," Ms. Huong shared.

If the Hot Air Balloon Festival brings new colors to the sky of Ca Mau, then the sounds, dances and folk art forms from the three regions have created a deep immersion for the Festival.
