Some scams that tourists often use to book rooms during the holidays include: Impersonating famous hotels and homestays by using real names, logos, and images to create fake websites or fanpages with a large number of followers; Listing super cheap prices by offering unusually low room rates to manipulate psychology, causing pressure for tourists to rush to book rooms immediately.
Some scammers requested to transfer deposits in advance through personal accounts and e-wallets, then informed them of a " error" in asking the victims to continue transferring more money to appropriate.

To prevent fraud when booking hotel rooms and homestays, the Hanoi Department of Tourism advises tourists on some information.

When booking a room, ask the hotel or homestay to provide information about phone number, address, and business license. compared the business and personal accounts receiving the advance payment matches the information on the business license. Before transferring the room reservation fee, people need to call the hotel or homestay directly to check. Absolutely do not continue to transfer money many times as required by the hotel or homestay.
Book rooms through reputable travel agencies licensed to travel services (search for business information on the website https://quanlyluhanh.vn) or reputable booking platforms.
